I had to go to the pharmacy this morning to pick up my dad's prescription refills. What a mess that place was! No one is allowed to enter the store or even leave your vehicle. Cars were lined up all the way down the street and around the block waiting for their turn to pull up outside the pharmacy door to pick up their orders that must be pre ordered and pre paid by either phone or internet. As if that weren't annoying enough, they only had some of Dad's stuff in stock even though we had called ahead this morning to make sure his order was ready before I drove over there. So, I get to do this again later in the week.

I also stopped at the grocery store that is across the street from the pharmacy to see if they had any of the items that have been hard to get at the store where I usually do our shopping. They were actually pretty well stocked on most things except for the paper goods aisle which had no toilet paper, no facial tissues, and only a few single rolls of paper towels.
I made my Mom's day, because they had a few cartons of orange sherbet that she loves that has been out of stock at our regular store for several weeks now.

I don't know how long it will take to get back to anything close to normal. Until we need something, I'm not venturing out again. There's no excuse for the pharmacy to leave you hanging that way, Mel. I'm glad you could find more of the grocery products you didn't find the last time you went looking. - Especially orange sherbet for your Mom! Family Dollar and Dollar General should each get trucks tomorrow so I'm hoping to find wipes at one or the other. We'll see. edited to ask: Have you seen anything online about the numbers being 'fudged' to raise the covid-19 death toll? Edward has read 2 pieces to me about how people are dying of heart attacks, pneumonia, asthma, complications of copd or diabetes ... and the dead bodies are being tested for C-19 before being removed from the hospitals. If there's any indication they had the virus in their system, they're being logged as a C-19 casualty. A prominent conservative journalist was asked, "Why?" Her answer was basically "because they can" and she thinks it will not stop until some number is reached that will allow the libs to maintain some control (tho' not full-blown socialism). Not sure what's really going on, but that's a plausible idea. I'm on the lookout for an article that I can share online with my friend in Georgia who is sheltered at home, terrified to move. If you find something, please share a link. Thanks.

If I come across anything, I will certainly let you know.
Have you seen this map that tracks covid 19 confirmed cases, deaths, and recoveries on state, national, and world levels? :
As of now (1:15 PM EST) the worldwide total is showing 35,307 deaths VS 156,875 recoveries.
That means that even under a worst case situation, there are at least 4 to 5 people making a full recovery for every one that dies. And that would just be among the reported cases (in other words, the ones bad enough to need major medical care). If there were a way to track all of those who have only mild (or no) symptoms and consequently don't get tested, the % of deaths would certainly drop even farther likely far below 1%.

Mmm, boy, my email inbox is full of garbage on how now is the time to abolish the family; there are 2 potential solutions to C-19: 1 involves tracking people through their smartphones & the other a mass vaccination for everyone; Christians are being blamed for the spread of C-19 (of course, that megachurch in Fla that held services yesterday surely could put this idea into people's heads), and so on. And then another article jumped out at me, which I'll read this evening, about Christians taking the gospel and care to the sick. This headed the article: Attachment Deleted

I have to run a copy of a lease to the tenants who are on disability. One of the church charities in town is going to help them with their rent, and she'll pay me the $100 she owes me. I'll be happy to collect their rent. It's still raining, lightly; drops are about the size of baseballs. At least it isn't thundering! The dogs are all sound asleep. Attachment Deleted

I'd actually like to have a bench like the one in that meme for my back yard. You could put a small table or stand between the seats for people to set their drinks etc on.

Evangelist Rodney Howard-Browne Arrested for Hosting Large Church Services During Stay-at-Home Order
Pentecostal Pastor Rodney Howard-Browne was arrested Monday, March 30, for continuing to hold large church gatherings despite a government order to desist due to COVID-19.
During a press conference, Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister announced the arrest of Howard-Browne, pastor of The River at Tampa Bay Church in Tampa, Florida.
Chronister says his department has been in touch with Howard-Browne since Friday, according to Fox40. He also says he received a tip that Howard-Browne was continuing to encourage his congregation to meet in-person despite the church's ability to stream the service online.
"We received an anonymous tip that Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne refused a request to temporarily stop holding large gatherings at his church," he said, according to WTSP. "And instead, he was encouraging his large congregation to meet at his church. ...
"His reckless disregard for human life put hundreds of people in his congregation at risk, and thousands of residents who may interact with them this week, in danger."

I'd like a bench like that one for the patio. We just had the most delicious corned beef and cabbage that either of us have ever eaten - even tho' we've both cooked corned beef & cabbage in past years. I'll put the recipe in the Entrees folder. I think it's the spices. The rain has basically ended. I'm not sure who's happier - me or the dogs.

No sympathy here. When this all first started - the whole shut down of businesses that included churches - I was opposed to shutting down churches. However - considering the way the disease has spread, I think it's irresponsible to disregard the congregation's health as well as the health of all the unknown, innocent bystanders who might work, shop, be neighbors with members of the congregation. Since so many churches are streaming worship services - and that church could livestream as well but chose not to - I think arresting the pastor was appropriate.

Barb, re finding any article about the numbers being fudged would be interesting. I’ve googled the question without any satisfactory info... I’d be interested in reading too.

Barb, re finding any article about the numbers being fudged would be interesting. I’ve googled the question without any satisfactory info... I’d be interested in reading too. I'll ask Sweetie if he remembers whose posts he was reading & I'll go back & look them up sometime tomorrow. I want to see them too. Some guy (didn't catch his position) was saying that if you don't test people, many who are positive for C-19 will be missed. Well, if you're not feeling sick, why would you even attempt to be tested? You might be positive and asymptomatic, or you may not have it, but you could catch as you're leaving the site after being tested. I'm praying & putting my trust and faith in God. Have to go clean our office tomorrow so we can turn in the keys. Don't think it will take too long to do, maybe a couple of hours. DS is supposed to come over when he gets off work & move his dad's office chair - I had to laugh, I've always thought that chair was black, but when he pulled out into my portion of the office (better lighting *wink*) I could see it's really a lovely chocolate brown! He was threatening to me - said maybe I need new glasses. He was j/k, of course. Heading to bed ... I turned on the heat because it's chilly tonight. See y'all tomorrow, unless we meet in the air tonight! I love y'all!
