If you haven't received your stimulus payment yet be made aware that a lot of them are in the form of a debit card. It looks like a scam but it isn't. Apparently some people have been throwing theirs away. We almost did!

A cousin posted a news article last evening about these stimulus payments coming in an unmarked envelope. Not a good way to send them out, imo. Ours were direct deposited to the bank accts our SS checks go into. DS's came to his home address, where his 2019 tax return will go. <- His was the standard multi-colored govt check with the Statue of Liberty on it. I hope there's no fee for using the prepaid card.

A little stressful here this a.m. Ge'dogg had an appt at the vet's because of joint pain in his left shoulder&elbow .... maybe all down the leg to his toes. He'll be 11 on June 10th so he's officially an old guy, plus he's a 9 yr cancer survivor. .... to top it off, we couldn't go in with him. Due to covid-19, everything is curbside. The technician comes out & does a verbal assessment, comes out a 2nd time to get your dog & head inside. Waaahhh!!! Things went above & beyond best expectations. There are many more things that can be done for these old dogs now. Ge' got a shot (non-steroidal) that targets the inflammation, had a laser treatment on that leg, and was sent home with a bag of joint supplements & a bottle of pain med. Plus, I was reassured that I have not been overdosing him w/those pain pills - he can take a little more. He came out of there a happy dog & hopped back up into the car. Whew! Big, happy sighs from his people!

I hope there's no fee for using the prepaid card. If you use it in stores there is no fee but if you want to transfer it to a bank account there is and that irks me to no end.

I think that's a ploy to encourage (-try to force?) people to spend that money on material goods instead of using it to pay bills, or save it or invest it. ... It's manipulation, any way you look at it, imo. Have you seen the breakdown of what's in the 2nd stimulus package that was presented to Congress to pass? I hope that thing is never passed by anybody! I'd take their money, if they wanted to pass it out - except for the fact the non-stimulus related stuff is far too controlling forever. It would be as if Madam Speaker had her foot on our throats. Y'know, thanks, but no thanks - I'll work for my paycheck. ;o)

I accomplished part of the grocery shopping late this afternoon. Aldi's had more things on the list than I'd have ever expected. I haven't been shopping there much lately, but I may start, lol. I only went there because their ad showed a great price on avocados & seedless green grapes. The avocados were pretty hard, but I found 2 little ones that might be ready for breakfast in the morning. They were only $0.39 each, so no problem. There were no grapes - they must have sold out yesterday. Tomorrow I'll head to the commissary and finish up. May stop by Wal-Mart & see if I can find a pair of flip-flops. I wear them around the house, and the pair I have on is looking pretty ratty. This would be their 4th summer, probably.

Good morning! Happy Friday~ Praying for truth and justice to prevail in this country. Praying God will bless us with these things and with His provision for sustaining our physical lives. Praying in return for a major right turn in this country of people turning to Jesus. Attachment Deleted

I just don't get it. With all of the rioting and looting that has been going on in Minneapolis and a few other places over the last couple of days, so many of my friends on social media seem less concerned about all the violence and destruction than they are over the fact that most of the rioters and looters are not wearing masks or practicing social distancing. I have lost track of the comments to the effect that these riots are going to lead to a second wave of Covid-19. Not to mention all of the negative comments directed at Target for closing all 14 of their other stores in that general area until further notice after one of their stores was completely trashed and partly burned down by the looters.

You're being serious, aren't you. Your post sounds like something Babylon Bee, the satire site, would write .... but I know that's not really your style. My friends and family aren't commenting much, except to say what a tragedy George Floyd's death is. If anything has been said at all about the looting, it's been eyerolling followed by questions like, "Where's the National Guard?" and one or two suggesting the ARNG should be locked, loaded & firing. I have to say I agree with all of that. Some newscasters - NBC for one - is calling Minneapolis a protest, stating it's not a riot. Baloney. It's a full on riot & if the local LEOs can't regain order, the NG should come in & do it for them. Period./all my opinion

Looks like we may be in for some record breaking low temperatures this weekend. The overnight low for Sunday is forecast to be in the low to mid 40s.
The record late freezes that we had in late April and early May seems to have done a real number on the local orchards. It looks like this year's crop of cherries is going to be a total loss, and the early varieties of peaches and pears are not looking too good either.

Yes, unfortunately I am being entirely serious.
As much as I love satire and dark humor, I wouldn't joke about something this serious without trying to make it clear that I was doing so.
I haven't done it yet, but I am seriously considering putting some of my "friends" on Facebook snooze for a while to get away from the idiocy of it all. Some newscasters - NBC for one - is calling Minneapolis a protest, stating it's not a riot. Baloney. It's a full on riot & if the local LEOs can't regain order, the NG should come in & do it for them. Period./all my opinion One news report that I saw this morning said that the "protesters" had burned down the police station where the cop who killed Mr Floyd was based.
How can anyone think that destroying your own community is an effective form of protest?
I have to wonder how much of this rioting is being stirred up by outside troublemakers.
