Good morning! It's 71 at present, and stuffy humid. We had pouring rain after 3 a.m., and there were some power outtages after that, but apparently not in our neighborhood, tho' just a few blocks from us. That was a good deal that you could get all your prescriptions filled at once, Mel. The doc was pleased with Edward's labs yesterday. Told him he needs more fiber so we bought Beneful, when we stopped at Wal-Mart for a few groceries afterward, & we're both going to mix it in our coffee or soup or whatever and see if we can tell any difference in energy levels. Our office is having 'last-Friday-of-month lunch-at-the-office' today. We're having pizza & Iris is coming to eat with us. Nita went to her house a couple of afternoons ago & had a long talk with her to see why she quit. It wasn't office stuff, it was over family things. Her DH walked in & lit up all smiles when he saw Nita in the living room. So, we're hoping Iris really comes back to work since Nita told her she can take the time off this summer to go check on family living out of state. Y'know, us 2 gals can pick up the slack for a couple of weeks here & there, we just really like all of the good work she does so we don't want to lose her! I'm really praying this works out for the good of the company. Okay, sun's trying to chase off the clouds so I'm going to put on my shoes & head west for the afternoon. Hope y'all have a good day. That meatloaf sounds good, Mel - we haven't had meatloaf in ages. We're having leftover chili this evening.

That's just too funny! I can see the preacher sputtering, attempting to discern the best course of action. We had a great lunch - lots of hugs and smiles and discussion. Iris comes back to work on Monday. After work, Edward & I put some concrete blocks back the way we've had them in the past to keep the gate more tightly closed. That lawn crew that mowed a week or so ago has proved to be a bunch of yo-yo's. Most polite thing I can say. They did not put the blocks back the way they found them. That has made me nervous every time these dogs have disappeared around the corner of the house. It's one thing I'd fire them for. I'd also fire them for blowing grass in the old pool - it makes a mess & that's where the dogs play. I'd also fire them for trying to scam money out of me. Heh, 3 strikes & yer out!" I seriously do not want them on my property again. That's sad because they've mowed for me for more than 3 years. We have waves of severe weather expected in here overnight. I'm praying they all fade to low level showers, not 80 mph winds & baseball-sized hail with a likelihood of tornadic spin-ups. See y'all tomorrow, hopefully.

Good morning! It is 49 degrees and raining here this morning, and it is not expected to get much warmer or dryer today. I had wanted to mow the grass and do some other yard work today, but it doesn't look like that will be happening now. I had a number of very strange dreams last night. In one, agent Gibbs from NCIS was trying to help me to track down my missing sister (In real life, I don't have any sisters ). In another, I was working as a cashier in a store, and the woman behind the person that I was already checking out kept running her own items over the scanner to put them on the other person's bill. . I also had a dream about my grandparents, but I don't remember much detail about that one. Praying for all needs today. Hope that you all have a great weekend!

Good morning! It's 75 degrees with lots of clouds & occasional sunshine. There's a tornado watch covering the west 1/3 of the state. Our county, and the county south of us are not included - we're on the edge of it. There are/were supposed to be 3 waves of storms. The overnight wave stayed to the west and raced to the northeast so we had nothing from that. The second wave should be here around 12:30-1 pm. Meanwhile, we had a tenant pass away at the 34-unit apartment complex last night. He'd been drinking heavily and the speculation is that his esophagus ruptured. I'm going over there in just a bit and get the key to his apartment from the tenant who locked up after the EMT & police left. I called Nita who told me to "take lots of photos." This is the first time we've lost someone in a rental we're managing. Nita said it's pretty interesting, she just read an article this morning that was all about handling your first death at one of your rentals. I told her that must have been Divine Intervention! Who knew we'd need to know that stuff today! (We're not being irreverant, we're being thankful.) Those were some strange dreams, Mel! I got a kick out of the one with Gibbs in it. Do you think maybe we're watching too many old TV shows? I'll give you a guess what's on my TV here in the office at the moment (hint, hint it's one you watch often too, I think ....) Hope all is well with you this morning, Jeanette. Y'all take care today!

Yes, NCIS is one of my favorite shows, and I do often watch the reruns of it. I also often watch reruns of Law & Order, Law & Order SVU, and Bones. You can probably tell from that list that Crime Dramas and Mysteries are my favorite types of shows. When I was younger, I was really into science fiction too, but I've mostly lost interest in that in recent years, although I do still occasionally watch the older Star Trek shows and movies.

Yep - NCIS is on here this morning. I've never particularly cared for Law & Order in any form - not really sure why. I used to watch Bones & Castle but I've tired of them, having seen most of them more than once. We got into a discussion awhile back on how dysfunctional the relationships are on both of those shows & I think that further turned me off on watching them. I've started watching The Closer and Major Crimes, plus I like Lethal Weapon, the series so I've been watching that. I occasionally catch Murder She Wrote, or a Columbo episode I really like. Sci-Fi channel used to have good series on, especially on Friday nights, but they've changed a lot over the last several years so I don't find anything on there very often that I care for. It was disappointing when Sci-Fi started changing. We watch a lot of Made in America or How It's Made - whatever that show is called. It's on almost all day on Sundays so we'll catch at least a couple hours of it. We've seen the history of McDonald's vs Burger King, and the story of KFC, the war between WonderBread and Pepperidge Farm products ... there's a lot of American history involved and I love that aspect of the show.

Sharon and I used to often watch Murder she Wrote and Matlock too, but I've seen them all so often that they don't hold my interest anymore.
I also like some of the cooking and baking competition shows on the Food network and the Cooking Channel.

Well, took lots of photos @the apt where tenant passed. Had the maintenance man change the locks & between us all we made sure the windows were all locked. The (biggest gossip) tenant showed off her new German Shepherd puppy. He's a young'un, but quickly be too large to live in a small 1-BR apartment. She's looking for a home for him. We made it to Taco Bell before the storm hit. We had burritos for lunch & waited out the storm. We're going to gas up the Tahoe &stop at the Asian store to pick up some sides, hopefully, to go with homemade pad thai tomorrow. And then I want to go home & stay there till Monday.

The (biggest gossip) tenant showed off her new German Shepherd puppy. He's a young'un, but quickly be too large to live in a small 1-BR apartment. She's looking for a home for him. A brother for Milo? ... That is going to be one big dog when he's grown. He would be far too much work for me at this time in my life. I told Edward after we'd had Nikki here for a couple of months that I realize I do NOT have the energy, nor the time, to raise & train a puppy any more! "No more puppies for me!" Edward laughed & agreed. Nikki has been here for 6-1/2 months now. She's gotten used to us and her dog siblings, and we've all likewise gotten used to her. Nikki has settled down and slowed down a little bit. She's a great dog, and a wonderful addition to this home ....The German Shepherd pup is a sweetheart & I hope the tenant finds him a wonderful furever home, but my home isn't it. Well, I've sorted out my purse - I came home with a big ring of keys the maintenance man handed to me, the many keys to the apartment where he changed the locks, and rent handed to me by a tenant 'just in passing' as I was getting ready to drive away from the apartment complex. We stopped at the Asian store, along the way, and picked up some veggie pancake mix; fresh Thai basil; and some fresh kimchi that I think I'll put into some fried rice for tonight's dinner. Heading in the kitchen to look for my kimchi fried rice recipe. See y'all later.
