Good morning, Jeanette! Good morning, Mel! It's 55 this morning, with a band of rain expected to move through here shortly. It might reach 60 this afternoon. Looks slightly foggy right now - it's off in the distance, & not close to the ground, but it muddied up the sunrise. Is DD#4 & family staying through Christmas, Jeanette? Have fun with them. I've got to call the vet & see what their hours are going to be today & tomorrow. I need to run by there & pick up some pain pills for Fran. She was getting around great yesterday & very perky, so I know she was feeling real good. I'd like to keep her that way as the rain moves through today & on Saturday too. Those doors are pretty funny, Mel. What bugs me are all the substitutions of "Grinch" in place of "Christ" in people's "Christmas" displays. There are a lot of large displays around town like that. These hounds are ready to be fed. Nikki just came in here, all cold & wiggly from racing around the backyard - she's wanting attention so I know she'd like her breakfast. Hope everyone has a terrific Thursday! Happy 1st day of winter!

I haven't seen any of that around here so far. What I have noticed is that although there are a lot of nice Christmas light displays here, there are hardly any that include nativity scenes compared to most other years other than at a few of the churches. I've also seen a few that included the Palestinian flag in their holiday displays.

sometimes I feel like the old grinch … “oh the noise” … Everyone goes to bed really early, including the grand doggie Grouphug I love your description, Jeanette! All the Whos down in Whoville I'm really impressed that the grand doggie goes to bed too. Our pup tots would all be happy to go to bed early, but they'd have to get up each time they heard dear ol' dad, or me, walk into the kitchen to put away a coffee cup or walk around the house checking all the door locks. We had a high of 63 this afternoon, with pinhead-sized rain, but it felt much colder and those tiny raindrops felt like ice when they hit. Nita decided to lock up the office at 4:30 this afternoon. She took home her laptop, & Iris'; I brought home my office laptop too. She didn't want us there alone after she left. And "why was that?", you might wonder. The office atmosphere today was like something out of that old Spencer Tracy movie, "Bad Day at Black Rock". In other words, the partnership dissolution is anything but amicable. That wackadoodle partner accused me of financial improprieties, as if our team could take any cash (as in put it in our pockets & steal it) and that not be blatantly obvious. We tell our tenants we don't take cash, but there's no law against it so if one of them walks in with a handful of benjamins to pay rent, we'll gladly take it, immediately apply it to their account, and give them a receipt for the amount. We do that to get paid on time & keep people in their houses. You turn someone away who has a handful of greenery and you're likely not getting that payment in any form any time soon! And things went downhill from there. So, I was happy to leave at 4:30. I had time to go by Wal-Mart & pick up the groceries I'd planned to get in the morning, and then I stopped at our favorite Thai restaurant and picked up an order of pad thai with tofu and a mid-level amount of spiciness. Now, tomorrow, I have a mammogram scheduled for 10 a.m., and then I'm driving on across town to pick up a refill of Fran's non-steroidal pain med and some heartworm pills for her. Beyond that, if I don't have to leave the house till December 27th when our office re-opens, I'll be tickled pink!

Good morning! We are socked in with heavy fog this morning and it's currently 57 degrees. Milo is having some kind of tummy troubles this morning. No idea what he's eaten that he shouldn't have. We are going to keep a close eye on him today. Gotta run ... I'll check in later! Love y'all!

Hope you're all having a great Friday! I've spent most of this week working on a sewer line that has numerous breaks & must be fully replaced. I've been the go-between between the owner & a terrible home warranty company & a couple of contractors. I think we've got it pretty well worked and planned for the 26th or 27th. I'm finally able to work on some things around our house. You re-ally have a full schedule with family over the next few days, Jeanette! Hope that's all a lot of fun and good memory-making time. I'm not ready for Christmas. I'm more in the mood to just let it go by and I'll sleep through it! I have to text DS & see if they're doing anything on Sunday or Monday. I have to put a roast down in the fridge to start thawing. I'm putting it in the crockpot & fixing it like a Mississippi Pot Roast. We'll have mashed potatoes, stove top stuffing, cranberry sauce & dinner rolls with that. If I find a tasty brussels spouts recipe that I've saved somewhere, I may fix that to as an easy green side dish. It looks like the fog was moving back in just before dark. I might do better if we have some sunshine in the next day or two, although there's rain expected part of the time in some of this area, and two cold fronts. Hoping for some sunshine nonetheless! I'm watching Galaxy Quest - one of my favorite movies. See y'all later!

I'm not ready for Christmas. I'm more in the mood to just let it go by and I'll sleep through it! I have to text DS & see if they're doing anything on Sunday or Monday. I never really got into a Christmasy mood this year, and I don't really have any big plans for Christmas. Sharon's sisters invited me to have supper with their family tomorrow evening; but we aren't going to have a big Christmas party this year like we have most other years, and we are not exchanging gifts. We are just going to have a simple pot luck type meal where everyone brings a dish to share. My contribution to the meal is going to be a sea shell Pasta salad. We are doing it tomorrow, because several family members have to work on the actual holiday. For Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, I plan to just stay at home and relax. I really should go to bed soon, but I am wide awake for some reason.

Well, I drove to be the responsible adult at DD#3’s home, as her DD has the beginnings of something. They didn’t want to chance spreading it to DD#4’s 1 yr old … I arrived home here about 11:55 pm & am chilling a little before bed. It was a quiet evening.
Everyone was asleep here, except DH, as I had let him know I was headed home. He is now asleep though!
It took me an hour to get to DD#3’s home because of traffic. To get home, less time, about 40 mins.

I'm not ready for Christmas. I'm more in the mood to just let it go by and I'll sleep through it! I have felt that way and am so looking forward to our being called up to meet Jesus in the air sooner rather than later! Praying ‘Night everyone!
