Following several recent mass shootings, officials in San Francisco declared the NRA a domestic terrorist organization. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that nearly one-out-of-three Likely Democratic Voters (32%) favor declaring the gun rights group a terrorist organization in the community where they live. Fourteen percent (14%) of Republicans and 20% of voters not affiliated with either major party agree. (To see survey question wording, click here.) Twenty-eight percent (28%) of Democrats say Americans should be prohibited by law from belonging to pro-gun rights organizations like the NRA, a view shared by 15% of Republicans and 10% of uanffiliateds. Among all likely voters, 23% favor declaring the NRA a terrorist organization in their home community, while 18% think it should be against the law to belong to pro-gun rights groups like the NRA. www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/current_events/gun_control/28_of_democrats_say_it_should_be_illegal_to_join_the_nra

Why, that makes me want to run right out and renew my membership!
I wouldn't believe those stats unless I did a survey and found those results myself. God help us!
Y'know, I can't seem to get through a day any more without dropping my jaw over the ignorance I'm seeing and hearing, and then shaking my head and saying, "God help us!" I'm praying Jesus comes back to get us soon!

I have never owned a firearm and I have no particular desire to do so; but when I see these kinds of news stories, I kind of want to get one just on the principle of supporting the Constitution. (And to annoy some of my more liberal friends.)

(And to annoy some of my more liberal friends.) I luv it! Thats a great idea! I started shooting long guns at 17 months of age. Dad held the rifle, I stood on a kitchen chair & pulled the trigger. We wete shooting out the kitchen window at my grandmother's in WV. I haven't gone to the range much in recent years, but I enjoy going to a range & busting rounds, shooting up targets. I was a member of the rifle club in college & I used to compete in postal matches w/other clubs. I come from WV & Ohio families that kept their guns in racks that hung on their bedroom & living room walls. I'm trying to say that the idea of not owning a gun is totally foreign. :no

When I was a boy, my Dad, Granddads, and uncles all hunted. So I have been around guns (hunting rifles and shotguns mostly)and I do know how to use them, but I've never owned one of my own. Dad hasn't hunted in quite a few years, and he sold most of his guns a few years ago before they moved to their current home though I think he may have one or two stashed away "just in case".

Membership in the NRA is no different from Membership in the Boston Street Railway Association. They are clubs for enthusiasts.
