McDonald's restaurants in the Netherlands have debuted a revolutionary way to turn consumers on to their iconic burgers and fries — by launching the "world's first billboard" that smells like their food. "This is the first time that a billboard has been used to diffuse the McDonald's scent," Golden Arches reps described in a statement this week about the aromatic advertising initiative. The billboards "are strategically placed within 600 yards of a McDonald's so customers can follow the scent trail to the source." notthebee.com/article/mcdonalds-has-launched-a-series-of-billboards-that-smell-like-mcdonalds-food

Well, my first thought was "Eeewww!" My next thought was to chuckle. We have several restaurants, even some fast food and pizza joints, along with a couple of large convenience stores in which you can find hot, fresh food to eat at all 3 meals .... so, as y ou drive around this town, if you're hungry, the delicious scents can definitely entice you to pull into various parking lots. No billboards pumping out odors needed. My take on the subject.
