A little something to lighten your day! Is this a new Pokémon or a bearded dragon in need of rescue from a Spongebob pineapple toy? While Ash Ketchum was disappointed a new breed of Pokémon had not been discovered, Randy the bearded dragon was quite relieved to have his head removed from a toy pineapple this week. Veterinarians at a The New England Animal Medical Center in Bridgewater, Massachusetts said, "Randy, the bearded dragon, tried to visit SpongeBob Square Pants yesterday and ended up in the ER. We're not laughing at you Randy, we are laughing with you." The veterinarians broke open the toy and got Randy free without injury. "The pineapple didn't make it, but Randy is back home happily laying in the sun," the hospital wrote. Pineapple is generally safe for bearded dragons to eat in moderation, though the acid can cause digestive issues if given too much. Plastic pineapples on the other hand are not recommended for ingestion, though I would have to agree with the veterinarians that they do make "cute emergencies" when bearded dragons try to wear them as hats. Poor Randy! I'm glad the little guy was OK. Reminds me of the time May got her head stuck in the Pint ice cream carton that she got out of the kitchen trash can.
