A really cute 4-year-old named Noah accomplished what most kids could only dream of… he purchased 51 cases of Spongebob Squarepants popsicles and had them sent to his auntie's house. Unfortunately, 51 cases of said popsicles = $2,618 ... charged directly to his mom's bank account.
Noah's mom, Jennifer Bryant, is a student at NYU and a mother of 3 boys. She reached out to Amazon about returning the order for a refund, but they would not take it back.
As a result, her friend created a GoFundMe to help pay off the popsicle debt, as she is unable to afford the purchase on top of student loans and other family expenses. So far, the GoFundMe account has already reached $7k and counting. Ms. Bryant said that she plans on using the remaining funds towards Noah's education and support for his ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder).

Now that's both a funny and sad story at the same time. Good ol' Amazon - yeh, they just can't help a single mom fix a mistake made by her austistic child. I'm really happy people helped out by contributing to the GoFundMe page. Aside from that, I'm wondering how this little boy managed to charge to her bank account? If she has it automatically linked to Amazon, I'd be undoing that immediately.

Most likely she had her bank account's debit card set as the default payment method on her Amazon account but neglected to set a checkout password to confirm that purchases are authorized before they are allowed to go through. People often tend to put convenience ahead of security.

I would think Amazon would have questioned the purchase of that many popsickles and try to get in touch with the buyer before they shipped. I am glad it ended well.
