What really gets me is how some of my more liberal "woke" friends always act so utterly shocked when something like this happens, like they just can't believe that these deviants are doing anything other than providing fun entertainment for the kids out of the goodness of their hearts.

What really gets me is how some of my more liberal "woke" friends always act so utterly shocked when something like this happens, like they just can't believe that these deviants are doing anything other than providing fun entertainment for the kids out of the goodness of their hearts. All I can figure is that it's a lack of Christian upbringing - not attending church on a regular basis, not watching cartoons that were pretty decent over the past 25-40 years (and often had a Christian theme even if not overt), and having parents or grandparents that didn't provide guidance on the crazier things in the world. When I was in gradschool & jr high, friends' parents, and my parents & relatives, had colloquial terms to describe homosexual men, and we rarely heard of lesbian women, tho' they started appearing when I was in high school. We certainly didn't encounter drag queens! Just the small amount of comments from parents basically taught us what we needed to know - which was: those people are abnormal, their behavior is shameful, and we certainly don't talk about the 'funny uncle' that every family seems to have one of. The word "funny" meaning "perverted - so stay out of arm's reach!" Our society has gone off the rails, basically.
