It was tough to put a title on this thread that would fit the Subject line while not totally side-stepping the story line.
Full article title: Is the Pope Catholic? Francis is going to pray at a straight up ancient pagan temple

As Joel Abbott of Not the Bee pointed out, "Just when I think the Woke Pope can't get any more heretical, he goes and one ups himself with an "interfaith" prayer to be held on the site of the ancient Babylonian temple dedicated to the moon god Nanna. Those who've actually read the Bible might point out that Ur has little to do with Abraham – that God called him out of that city to follow him – but it's all about the PR, ain't it?"
Abbott goes on to comment,
Abbott is referring to Acts 4:12 in the first sentence, and to John 8:31-59 in the second sentence.

The ancient site of Ur in Iraq will be the stage for an inter-religious prayer service held by Pope Francis next week. An event local archaeologists hope will draw renewed attention to the place revered as the birthplace of Abraham reut.rs/2MdPM1h
"The inter-religious prayer service will be attended by Christians, Muslims, Mandaean-Sabaean, Yazidi and other religious minorities present in Iraq. The focus will be on harmony between religious groups in a service the Vatican has named 'Prayer for the sons and daughters of Abraham.'"

Abbott goes on to comment,
It's funny, because I don't remember Peter telling the Pharisees that Abraham was the name under heaven by which people could be saved. I also seem to remember Jesus telling his own people that he both existed before Abraham and that they were sons of the devil, because only those who obeyed the true God could claim to be Abraham's children.
Yet the Pope will appeal to Abraham. What a great way to make everyone feel comfortable in their sin without the saving knowledge of the only name that saves!
