When ballparks finally open again, those standing for the traditional seventh-inning stretch will be singing some different lyrics to "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." After over 100 years of selling its caramel popcorn snack under the name Cracker Jack, Frito-Lay announced today that it would be rebranded as the less offensive "Caucasian Jack." "We are very sorry to all the crack---er, I mean, Caucasians we have hurt over the years," said a spokesperson. "Cracker is an offensive stereotype, and we must make sure that all foods and snack products are culturally sensitive. Think about all the white people who have had to suffer in silence as tens of thousands of baseball fans sang out the hurtful lyrics 'Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks.'" "No more. The bigotry stops today." The move was applauded by hurt white people, though they are still criticizing Frito-Lay for how pale and pasty-white the Cracker Jack guy is on the logo.

... I luv it! That's particularly funny to me because I have a tenant who is literally dumber-than-dirt. He's blonde and blue-eyed; a thief, a liar, and has previously been into drugs (may still be). He used to refer to my son, who is mixed race as, "yur boy". Heavy emphasis on the word 'boy', as if my son was less than a hired hand. Like, "have yur boy come by here and pick up the air conditioners" or, "can you have yur boy cut around the fence for me, I don't have a weedeater" (well, tough, get one!). I had finally had all of that I was willing to put up with one day. I sharply turned on my heel, looked him square in the eye, and told him in my best command voice, "You are referring to my son. He is NOT my 'Boy'; he IS my 'Son'. Don't you ever call him 'boy' again! You got that?!?" He said yes, ma'am, he'd read me loud & clear. Well, good! Behind his back, I've called that man "Cracker-Boy" for years because of all of the above combined. "Cracker-boy and his woman" have been a lot of trouble over the decade they've rented from us. So do you think I should mend my ways and start referring to him as "Caucasian-Boy" - ?!? *disclaimer: if this post offends anyone, it is only because you have never dealt with tenants. I make no apologies for this post.
