HANOI (Reuters) - You’ve got to eat it, to beat it: That’s the philosophy of one Hanoi chef who is attempting to boost morale in the Vietnamese capital by selling green, coronavirus-themed burgers.
Laughing in the face of the global pandemic, Chef Hoang Tung and his team now spend their days moulding dozens of green-tea stained burger buns complete with little “crowns” made of dough to resemble microscopic images of the virus.
“We have this joke that if you are scared of something, you should eat it,” said Tung, at the Pizza Home takeaway shop in downtown Hanoi.
“That’s why the coronavirus isn’t scary anymore after you eat a burger in the shape of the virus itself. That way of thinking spreads joy to others during this pandemic,” said Tung.

Well, that's one way to approach the matter. That's a pretty good looking burger.

Ever since I saw that story this morning, I've been really craving a good burger, but I don't want to make an extra trip to the grocery store on the off chance that they might actually have some good lean ground beef in stock.
The meat section has been in bad shape lately in all of the local stores. They haven't been completely out of meat any time that I have been to the store these last few weeks, but what meat they do have has been very poor quality.

Meat stock is coming back to near-normal levels at the commissary. There's some great lean hamburger, Mel - I picked up a couple of small packages 2 Fridays back, one about .9/lb, the other 1.02 lb. hehe. We've eaten one, but the other is in the freezer. I think that bun with the little dough points looks yummy. I really like bread, tho' I don't eat nearly as much of it as I used to.
One of the books on the list for Book Boy is titled Bacon Cookbook. I xeroxed a recipe for Peanut Butter BLT Wraps before I added it to the list. Plan to try that out one afternoon when I actually want lunch. We're having fish sticks for dinner this evening, with green beans and potato salad. I scrambled eggs for breakfast, and Edward cut an avocado for us to split. I'm hoping breakfast carries me all the way to dinner. I have a cousin in Florida who is not a follower of Jesus Christ. She runs after whatever bandwagon passes by each day. She seems to prefer pagan and witchy things. Today's 'squirrel' is the idea of Snow White as a vampire. <-- her 'ooh, aah!' over Vampira Snow White set me on a roll this morning, but I didn't say anything to her. I asked her several months back if she'd ever asked Christ into her life. She answered that she prefers to look at everything that comes along because she thinks it all has value. She wouldn't consider that Jesus might be bigger than her mind. I keep praying for her. My latest is to ask God to put the words in my mouth & shut me up when I've said to her what He would have me say; and to silence me when I should say nothing at all. See y'all later ...

I had to read that more than once to be sure that I had read it correctly, but a quick Google search indicates that this really is a hot topic of speculative conversation in some regions of the internet.
