Good morning! It's a bright, sunny, chilly late-fall morning here in SW Oklahoma. We have sustained winds of 22 mph, so it's probably gusting around 30 mph. Just a nice day for working around the house. I'll have the Army-Navy game on this afternoon & cheering for those Black Knights! Hope you're all doing well and wishing everyone a great Saturday!

I your new avatar, Mel. There's been a neat lamp setting on my side table at the office for about a year and a half. I haven't used it, so since the other partner's assistant cut off the lights to the breakroom, and keeps us locked out of her office so we can't turn them on, I volunteered the lamp so we can see the Keurig enough to make coffee in the afternoon. I was using the flashlight on my cell phone last week & our receptionist declared that the last straw. She cleaned off the top of the refrigerator and the lamp has a temporary home there now. Moving the lamp, however, left a big, open space on the end of my side table. It looks like a big, gaping hole. I want to put something holiday-ish there, so I'm going to look in the garage before the game starts & see if we have anything.

Army won the game, 17-11. There were a couple of nail-biting play reviews, but I'm not unhappy with the way things worked out, in either case. Besides winning the game, Army also won this year's Commander in Chief's trophy because they also beat Air Force, earlier in the season. Today hasn't been particularly warm, with a high of 55. It was windy till the sun went down, with wind gusts up to 36 mph. The wind has largely calmed down in the past hour. The temperature has also dropped back into the upper 40s. The forecast is calling for temperatures in the upper 20s overnight. It's really cool in the house. Think I'll put on a sweater and see if that's enough, or if I really need to turn up the heat. We're having grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner, with potato salad and probably some baked beans. Kind of a picnic dinner. We've enrolled Nikki in a 4-week video training course. I've been through the 1st lesson, which was basically an introduction to the course with the rules on 'how to' get the most out of the course. The course facilitator did say, if you & your dog play together that's fine - the key is not to let your dog engage in negative behavior, like ignoring you when you call them. And, she added, if your dog sleeps on your bed or jumps on the table, and you're okay with those things, there's nothing wrong with letting them do it. Edward & I are both determined to spend the time with both Nikki and Milo to get everything out of this course that we can. BTW, as for the electrical blackout that the other partner & her assistant are pulling, if they were staying I'm sure that situation would be rectified. I'm equally sure once they leave, we'll get the electric back on in the break room, first thing. The 3 of us are working at not fighting with the 2 of them about anything, unless it's something contractual or ethical, something like that. I am praying the partner finds a location to move them to, quickly.

Good morning, Mel! Good morning, Jeanette! It's sunny & cold here, 45 at present but was only 27 at 7:30 and really doesn't feel too close to the mid-40s. The forecast high for today is 53, so I don't expect we'll get out of the chill mode. Hope you all have a peaceful and blessed Sunday.

Wow, Mel. That's not fun weather at all. Do you have any sunshine in the forecast for this upcoming week? Are you getting a lot of rain, Jeanette? I climbed around in the garage this afternoon, looking for decorations and specifically a silk poinsettia or two. Nada - zip, zam, powie - nothing. Ran to the nearest dollar store and found a melamine plate that they had advertised in today's paper. It has a red & green plaid border with an old red pickup truck hauling a fresh cut Christmas tree pictured in the center. Added a holiday coffee mug for fun. It has a black lab wearing a red neck scarf pictured on two sides and the caption, "Most Likely to Eat Santa's Cookies". That particular dollar store had not gotten in the advertised silk flowers so I came home. I wasn't in the mood to shop. We're having Yiddish Potted Meatballs for dinner, in a tomato-y sauce. I'll whip up a pan of mashed potatoes to go with that, and some 3-bean salad.

The potted meatballs were delicious! I'll see if I can't get the recipe posted tomorrow. I'm worn out this evening & I still have to put up a load of dry clothes, feed these dogs their dinner, and make sure everything is put away in the kitchen. I'd really wanted to insulate around some windows in this house this afternoon (this is a cold house), but tenants ran me ragged with heat & water issues. I think I've updated the last tenant phone # I needed to change in the tenant profiles; and I've made out the last workorder that I need to submit first thing in the morning. We've had 2 major water heater fails - they make such a mess; a lawn sprinkler, the shut off for which can't be found, has sprung a leak - tenant's current water bill is $400 & he has a small pond in his backyard; another tenant reports her heater is not working and the oven on her kitchen stove is also not working; and we have more than one contractor who has jacked up his rates to the point we can't afford them, but we do not have a stable full of alternate contractors to replace any one of them with. ...and all on a Sunday. So ... gonna see how much of 'my stuff' I can do in the next 2 hours. I'm puttin' on my track shoes, you just can't see it. I love you guys!

I received a phone call this evening from one of my childhood friends, and we talked for about two hours. I think that I am going to turn in soon. Good night!
