It’s no baloney, a world-record breaking sandwich will be sliced this week at the Lebanon Area Fair. A 150-foot Lebanon bologna sandwich will be unveiled Tuesday during the fair’s community night, with free slices available from 5-7 p.m. Lebanon bologna is a central Pa. tradition, renowned for its distinct smoked and tangy flavor. Visit Lebanon Valley, which promotes the region, is sponsoring the record-breaking attempt, which will take place at the Lebanon Valley Expo Center’s North Hall. The sandwich will be constructed with locally-made French bread, Seltzer’s Smokehouse Meats smoked Lebanon bologna and provolone cheese. As part of the cause, each footlong bite of the sandwich is sponsored at $100 per-foot, with proceeds benefitting Lebanon County Christian Ministries to fight hunger in the region. “We wanted to take the community aspect of this event a step further,” said Jennifer Kuzo, president of Visit Lebanon Valley. “That’s why we chose to partner with Lebanon County Christian Ministries to fight hunger in the Lebanon Valley.” To round out the event, there will be other bologna-themed festivities as well as stickers, buttons and T-shirts. www.pennlive.com/food/2023/07/worlds-largest-bologna-sandwich-to-be-unveiled-at-central-pa-fair.html?utm_campaign=pennlive_sf&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&fbclid=IwAR1vjnLC-IrgCL2AOeE5-f5F0xLhPy0PnvzybqYrdALCt045vGZOXEFGbUU

It’s no baloney ... “That’s why we chose to partner with Lebanon County Christian Ministries to fight hunger in the Lebanon Valley.” That first phrase is certainly spot-on! This is really impressive - American brainstorming ability and entrepreneurship: - An American corporation or two; i.e., the bakery that made the French bread along with Seltzer's Smokehouse Meats - A local Christian Ministry - A organization that promotes area tourism They partner up to entertain and, key purpose, to raise money to feed hungry people in the area. All kinds of good may result, far beyond people enjoying an evening at the fair, and even beyond people who need food being provided with some. Heh, if I were there, I'd be at the Fair this evening.
