What started with one snake named “Naners” on the Fourth of July has snowballed into a situation out in Ross Township because police there are asking folks to help them find … more snakes. It’s not something you see every day and there probably won’t be a whole lot of folks jumping to the front of the line to go out on the Municipal Center grounds there and kick around the bushes to find the other snakes. It all started Tuesday night, with fireworks in the air, as police posted to Facebook a couple photos of the large snake — now named “Naners” — that they found at a baseball field at Ross Community Park. The snake appears to be some sort of yellow python. Now it appears that it wasn’t alone. In a post to its Facebook page Friday, the Ross Township police said that an investigation into the release of the python determined that a total of five snakes were released by the owner. Four of those snakes are still unaccounted for. So, the police asked that if anyone in the area of the Municipal Grounds sees a 7-foot brendil python, a 7-foot rat snake and two juvenile ball pythons, which are estimated to be about 1.5 feet long. www.pennlive.com/news/2023/07/somebody-dumped-a-bunch-of-snakes-in-a-pa-park-on-the-fourth-of-july-police-still-havent-found-them-all.html?utm_campaign=pennlive_sf&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&fbclid=IwAR2Ehl5VDpPoG3sIaH-43zv-QGEBmsV_dwEA1P_uxrWpICfPNR3ZhxZZDYs

I hope they find all of those snakes safely & in good health! That's quite a collection! I also hope the owner who dumped them is prosecuted. And, btw, I've known a bunch of guys here, over the years, who would have shown right up to help find those slithering creatures.
