Once again, the public schools bear some amount of responsibility for the trend to believe the media and the celebrities who weigh in on any particular subject with their opinion. For example,
What qualifies Eric Idle, a comedian with unknown other background, to stir up anyone with statements such as these? . . .

In the early 1990's Former UK Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher used "Global Warming" (now called Climate Change) as a ploy to bust Trade Union opposition. She later confessed that the Global Warming theory had serious flaws. Nevertheless, since then the concept has become the darling of the Socialist/Liberal Left seeking to advance their rhetoric of change. The theory remains no less flawed, but since so many people make decisions based on news sound-bites rather than true research, it continues to be a way for politicians to score points.
When you see the apparent political motivations of those propounding Global Warming, it becomes clear that it is really a political issue only - a kind of preaching to the choir. Besides, if they are right there remains nothing we really can do about it.
Quite frankly, the USA hasn't been without an expensive National Disaster since Hurricane Katrina. These have consumed much treasure and energy and liberals are quick to blame each event on Climate Change. While I wouldn't resign any one disaster to the Wrath of God; given the obvious pattern, I am left to conclude that may be more appropriately the case.
