Good morning! . . . We had heavy fog and it was chilly enough to wear a jacket around the backyard, but it's beginning to burn off. Should warm to almost 70 today. I hope so! What's new with you, Scott? Plumbing contractor has called for an emergency locate for the buried electric lines. The crew came by to scope out the job they'll be doing. They had a good laugh, agreed they're not doing anything till they know where the electric lines are. Can't blame them. This is boxing day in some countries ... I may go grocery shopping, but that's about it.

Good morning! It was a chilly 25 degrees here this morning, but it is expected to get up into the upper 50s by this afternoon. I had a nice Christmas. I spent the morning with my parents and had lunch with them. Then in the afternoon, I went to Sharon's sister's house for their family Christmas party. One of my older nieces and her husband got the two great nieces some rather large plush unicorns. The two little ones spent much of the afternoon wresting with their unicorns and each other.
And yes, both girls are in that picture, but all you can see of the younger one is a little bit of her pink pants leg sticking out of the unicorn pile at the top of the picture. We did make her sister let her up, but she crawled right back under the pile anyway.
And of course, sister in law's dog Reba was decked out in her best Christmas sweater.

The younger one must have been having fun being on the bottom of the pile that way. I love kids because they're inventive, whether they can explain themselves or not.
That dog is cute - does she like being dressed up? Leela likes to have a cover thrown over her if she's cold, but she's not interested in dressing up. Edward says, "well, yeh - she knows the other dogs would make fun of her!"
Did Miss May have special treats for Christmas? These dogs had canned turkey with sweet potatoes. They really enjoyed that.

I don't know if she likes being dressed up but she tolerates it. I think that dog has more outfits of clothing than I do.

She had some broiled fish, and a new catnip toy.
She wouldn't hold still long enough for me to get any good Christmas pictures of her.

She is surely a pleasant-natured dog, in that case. May sounds like these dogs - they give me a "what?" and "why?" reaction if I want to take a picture of any of them. They rarely stand still, and they run toward me. Makes it tough. Larissa's dog is a tiny little guy. He loves Edward, and me - in that order. Larissa is his favorite person over all. That's fine with the kids, they don't sit still long enough to play with and take care of a dog.

Well, after waiting all afternoon, I called the plumbing contractor's office about 4:15 & asked if the crew was still coming today? They were 'close to' finishing up the job they were doing and they'd be right over here after that. Ummm, considering the time, I asked to reschedule, and now they're on for Monday morning. That makes things better for us - I immediately started a load of laundry and a load of dishes.

We had a gorgeous sunset this evening - the sky had clouded up and it was gloomy by 4:15. About an hour later, the clouds thinned out, the sun shone through, and we had beautiful pink, orange, and purple swipes of color across the sky till just after 5:30. The temperature did reach 72 degrees this afternoon. I worked in the garage for a little bit, taking apart a 'not-quite' quilt a lady gave me a few years back. She invited herself to an open house I was holding; she was living next door & getting ready to move away. I didn't mind; no one was coming to see the house. When I closed up, she gave me this project she wasn't going to get finished before she moved. How could I turn it down? I think it's about 4 blankets semi-stitched together, semi-pinned with dozens of safety pins, and somewhat tied on one edge. I've decided not to waste it, so I took out all of the pins and untied some of the edge fringe. One side has tigers pictured; the other side is pale blue. When I finally have that fringed edge untied, I'll lay it out in the yard to see how big it is. I may take out the seam between the blue half & tiger half. The goal is to turn this all into dog blankets.

Good morning! More fog this morning, and chilly temps. It is soooo damp outside, but it hasn't rained. It may rain this afternoon - we have an inch predicted, but so far it looks like the rain may stay west of us. The new moon occurred on Dec. 25th. There has been no moon visible all week. I've been out at night watching the brilliant stars, before the fog rolled in , and they've been a pretty spectacular sight. Hope y'all have a great day! I cooked breakfast this morning - fluffy scrambled eggs, uncured bacon, and half an avocado, with black coffee. The dogs were happy to beg a bite of eggs & bacon. We share pretty well.

By noon the temperature here has gotten up to 57 degrees and pleasantly sunny.
I spent a few hours with my parents this morning, and we made lasagna for lunch.
It's not even New Year's Day yet, and the grocery store already has an entire aisle of Valentine's Day and Easter candy set up.
Also, I will be really glad when my Facebook page stops being totally overrun by Baby Yoda memes. Some of my friends seem to think that he is the cutest thing ever.

No Valentine's or Easter items on the shelves at Wal-Mart or the commissary when I was at each yesterday. Wal-Mart looked as if it had been ransacked: lots of empty shelves, boxes & tissue paper on the floors; everything appeared to need a good sweeping-up. A lot of re-arranging is about to occur, surely. At the commissary, an announcer kept advertising that most of the Christmas cookies & candies were on sale. I was in a hurry so didn't take the time to see what might still be on the shelves. I haven't seen too much of Baby Yoda - I'm not into Star Wars so I don't know what's behind the whole Baby Yoda silliness. I'm guessing it'll be over soon, a passing fad. My timeline has been covered up with the girl yelling at the cat & the cat sassing back. I don't know where that came from, but it's pretty obnoxious too. I usually hide those posts. Not quite 3-1/2 days left of 2019. Hard to believe it's about over. My BFF called yesterday from South Dakota. We talked a little over 3 hours, laughing and going over the year-that-almost-was. We each agree that 2019 has not been a great year. We've each had lots of sadness and grief; we've lost loved ones, both 2-legged and 4-legged; and we're starting to face our age (we're each 62) and set some goals & plans for the next few years. God has been soooo good to each of us, and that's been the good part of this year - God's Grace and Mercy. Our Oklahoma University Cowboys lost the Texas Bowl to Texas A&M yesterday; the Oklahoma Sooners are getting whooped up on by Louisiana State U Tigers at present. I've turned it over to "Murder She Wrote" for background noise and I'm going to finish up some work I'm behind on. Y'all have a great rest of the day!

I just saw today that Baby Yoda's show on Netflix has been renewed for another season. So he probably won't be going away anytime soon sadly. As for the girl and the cat, that is Taylor Armstrong from the show "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" and the cat in the meme is substituted in in place of the person that she was fighting with on the show in one of her famous temper tantrum / meltdowns. And no I don't watch those types of "reality" shows normally, but I have friends who would never miss it. There is nothing real about reality TV.

Thanks for clueing me in, Mel! I'm not into watching much in the way of reality TV shows. Well, I like Family Feud reruns - that's pretty good as game shows go, and what would you call a game show but at least a form of reality TV.
Our power was out for awhile, earlier this evening. Someone reported on facebook that a power pole was down and on fire about a mile north of us. I watched the a firetruck run out that section line, but didn't see any smoke. This area is all lit up once more. Ge'dogg and Leela were all freaked out while the power was off. They seemed to know something wasn't 'normal'. They're calm again.
