LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) — Franklin & Marshall’s Friday night basketball game against York College was canceled after only about 10 minutes due to a student protest. Dozens of students sat on the court, demanding the game be canceled. Protestors cheered after it was called off. This is the second protest following yesterday’s news of F&M student-athletes having worn racially insensitive costumes during Halloween. Another protest is planned for Saturday while the college holds an open house.
The photos show the athletes wearing thick black mustaches with sombreros, with the words Jose Cuervo on their shirts. Another picture shows one student donning a traditional African garb called a dashiki.
One student who mocked Asians wore a pointed hat and soy sauce packets around his neck.

Granted, these kids probably weren't using the best judgement in their choice of costumes given the current "politically correct" climate; but the way so many people are reacting to this around these parts, you would think that they had committed mass murder or something.
A teenager's Halloween costume hardly seems worth starting protests over when there are so many other real problems to deal with in the world.

Merciful heavens, can we have some sanity return? I am in total agreement with you, Mel. This is the sort of thing that teens would have done in my high school days of the early-to-mid 70s. People would have rolled their eyes and commented something like, "Teens. What can you expect?" It would have mostly been laughed off. These protestors are probably mad at God when the fresh snow is bright white. And then they're probably mad at people for driving their cars through the snow & letting their dogs pee on it ... so then the snow may be brown, gray-black, yellow - and so then offensive to members of other races. That's how crazy I think these protestors are. They should be arrested for sitting on the court and blocking the game.
