Pizza Hut has announced it will be closing hundreds of its dine-in locations across the country. According to Food Business Network, the franchise will focus on the delivery and carryout services and cut back on “underperforming dine-in restaurants.” “This will ultimately strengthen the Pizza Hut business in the U.S. and set it up for a faster long-term growth,” president of Yum! Brands David W. Gibbs said in an earnings call, Food Business Network reported.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. We have 7 Pizza Hut locations in the Lawton-Ft. Sill area. It's rare to see many cars at any of these locations hardly ever. We've wondered more than once how they stay in business.

We have 3 Pizza Huts here in Chambersburg. none of them seem to do a lot of dine in business, but they are all kept busy with take out and delivery orders.
For myself, I like their pizza, but I prefer Papa John's Pizza.

Our son drove for Pizza Hut one year while in high school. He ran the roads almost from the minute he walked in until he was finally off the clock, and he was tipped well for his services. That's been 7 or 8 years ago. If this eastside location is still doing that sort of business, they should have no problems. They remodeled their restaurant for sit-down business, but I don't know how well that is doing. We have eaten a lot of Pizza Hut pizza over the past few decades, and have eaten Dominoes pizza occasionally too. Papa John's has had problems here, not sure what all happened but they only have one location now but seem to stay pretty busy there.

Must have been a bad year for pizza. A new England chain, Papa Gino's, closed about 100 locations within the last year.
