NEW YORK (AP) — Valentina Sampaio has become the first openly transgender model hired by Victoria’s Secret nearly a year after a top company official was pressured to apologize for implying trans women are off brand.
Last November, marketing officer Ed Razek of parent L Brands Inc., said in a Vogue interview that the annual Victoria’s Secret angels TV special would never include “transsexuals” because “the show is a fantasy.” He apologized after outrage ensued.

I don't even know where to start on this one.
It is nearly impossible to find anything positive to say about Victoria's secret's "branding" to begin with; but then the one time that they did actually try to do the right thing (though probably not for the right reasons), they quickly backed down in the face of pressure from the LGBT celebrity crowd.

Once upon a time, Ed Rezak's comment that Victoria's Secret would never hire a transsexual because the show is a fantasy would have received a rousing, foot-stomping, hand-clapping bout of fan approval. But we no longer live in that time, unfortunately.
The only good thing I saw in this article is that the annual Victoria’s Secret angels TV special may not happen this year because of low ratings last year.
