That was a rather nice article considering it's a New York paper. The other New York paper acknowledged the Red Sox 9th title but at the bottom of the page printed "still 18 less than the Yanks." WELL, cue Janet Jackson, "What have You Done For Me Lately?" See, 27 PAST World Series victories mean exactly nothing. Who is holding that trophy today?!! Come World Series time next year the 2018 Red Sox win will mean exactly nothing too.
Now, to be perfectly honest I was sure that the Red Sox would win the series against any National League team. I was not so sure that they could get past either the Yankees or the Astros. After all, both of those were great teams, 100 game winners, and anything can, and often does, happen in a short series. It was a surprise (to me, anyways) that the Sox made such short work of both of them.

I love the main picture in that article, which is the one I posted. I'm happy for the Red Sox! You are sooo right, Scott - once the Series is in the record books, it means nothing for the next year. But heh, Spring Training 2019 starts around the middle of February for pitchers and catchers on most teams.
