A judge has ruled that a pregnant woman with limited mental capacity must have an abortion. The woman is in her twenties and 22 weeks pregnant but has the mental age of a child aged between six and nine, the court heard. A police investigation into how she fell pregnant is ongoing.
The judge said evidence indicated the woman wanted to keep the baby. She ruled that an abortion should still be carried out, as a balance of evidence showed that a termination was in the woman’s best interests.
The woman’s mother, a former midwife who opposes abortion, had offered to care for the child with her daughter’s help. But the judge pointed out that social workers were unlikely to accept this, because of the risks posed by the woman’s psychological limitations.

This case took place in the UK, but how long before things like this start happening here in the US.
I realize that this young woman is most likely incapable of caring for a child on her own, but she wants to be a mother and she has family who were willing and able to step in and carry most of the burden for her.
I just keep alternating between and over the judges comment that:

It's really tough not to wish some evil retaliation by someone, anyone on that judge, who is a woman - for crying out loud! I have to remind myself that "Vengeance is mine", sayeth the Lord. And, "The Lord will repay." This is an evil ruling. Somehow, someone should overturn it before this abortion is carried out.
We have a lot of little girls having babies in this country who have no idea what to do with a child, once that baby arrives. Thankfully, most find a way ... with family help, the help of friends, a guy who steps into the role of "dad" for the baby, somehow it comes together & works out.

UPDATE: Appeals court has ordered Doctors not to carry out the abortion.A judge on Friday concluded that a pregnancy termination was in the woman's best interests. But three appeal judges on Monday over-ruled that decision after the woman's mother, a former midwife, mounted a challenge. Lord Justice McCombe, Lady Justice King and Lord Justice Peter Jackson had considered the challenge at a Court of Appeal hearing in London. They said they would give reasons for their decision at a later date. www.premier.org.uk/News/UK/Doctors-must-not-abort-mentally-ill-woman-s-baby-appeal-judges-rulePraise the Lord!
