Hi, Jeanette! Hi, Mel! We had a pretty day here, with a lot of fresh air. Atmospheric conditions were much improved over the past 2 weeks. <--I saw the results of that immediately in the dogs this morning. They were up & at 'em, bright & fresh, running around the backyard. Their voices sounded better too, when they barked at some kids walking to school. I hadn't realized how 'froggy' they'd been sounding. I know I felt a lot better today too! We have a largely dry weather week in the forecast ... maybe 20% chance of rain over the weekend, but that's not expected to amount to anything, really. Let's hope so! Well, hope you all have a good night's sleep. See you tomorrow!

Good morning! It's 74 with a heavy dew but lots of sunshine. We are forecast to reach the mid-80s this afternoon. The humidity is high. Luv that cat with the wild hair! I broke down and turned on the AC - 1st time this season. Edward said he was okay with leaving it off but the humidity is bugging me and the dogs so I gave in and flipped the switch. It's set on 76, so I'm not expecting it to run too long this morning. Hope y'all have a great day!

By the way, Mel, thanks for opening a new prayer thread for unspoken needs.

We have 3 cellphones in this house - mine, his, and an office cell phone. If I lose one, it doesn't take too much to find it. Edward never seems to lose his cell phone. Oooh, I cannot hardly stand to watch our local news, they are soooo liberal, and everything that goes with that. And I don't think any of them can read off a teleprompter. ....main reason I watch them at all is for the weatherforecast, and really, I could get that on the weather app on my phone. Wonder if I could talk myself into taking a break from them and use the assets on my phone for local news & weather.

More and more lately, I've been thinking that I ought to stop reading the news for the sake of my own peace of mind given how crazy the world has gotten; but then I would miss great stories like this one: Contractor paints over anti-Israel student protesters after they refused to moveA contractor hired to cover up anti-Israel vandalism at Ohio’s Case Western Reserve University refused to let protesters get in the way of his job — opting, instead, to simply paint right over them when they declined to move. The unidentified worker was filmed spraying the defiant protesters with white paint as they tried to block him from covering up their pro-Palestine graffiti on the Cleveland campus’ “Spirit Wall” early Tuesday morning. A clip being shared widely on social media showed the painter — who school officials described as a “third-party contractor” — inching closer to the demonstrators as he slowly covered up the vandalism. When the protesters refused to get out of the way and quickly donned protective face masks, the painter then hit them with the paint. CWRU President Eric W. Kaler ordered the clean up after condemning what he described as “threatening, intimidating and antisemitic” language scrawled across two campus walls. nypost.com/2024/05/08/us-news/anti-israel-student-protesters-at-ohios-cwru-painted-over-after-refusing-to-move-for-contractor/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR2lS3Ha9lCxn_zpztd-Wd40iRe-cjAw9CztgBbElvMrm-PxQuBowCB9KNc_aem_AdSFgTti-J3k4c9jrGQAwe6fqG3CLJjWF12G5roZ42LQJm9tH6-P5tPMJbCmn1bY8WMKJin-6TVshhjkWPNGVnph

Beautiful afternoon - we reached a high of 81. Could have used a little more wind, but I went through the drive-thru at Braum's and picked up burgers & fries for dinner. I was in the clutch, waiting in the drive-through line while refereeing a fight between 2 tenant groups of women at one apt complex and negotiating the turn-on of electric at the other complex (one of the tribes is pledging to pay the tenant's deposit but the changeover was scheduled before the pledge letter arrived, so the electric company shut off the power ). On top of that, after the plumber made a repair to the shower in one of the apartments at 4:00 this afternoon, 2 apartments in the same building were still without water at 7:00 p.m. tonight. I never did get the plumber back on the phone - he doesn't work afterhours. It was an interesting couple of hours - I was going back & forth on the 2 problems between the shrieking women & the gals left in the dark, and answering texts from Nita who was getting called when one side or another couldn't get back with me so she was trying to figure out what was going on. I finally got the electric back on for the gals who were in the dark with groceries they needed to put away, and I threw up my hands on the fight - we need to throw out the one tenant, and find the other tenant a husband. That last being a little above my paygrade. I enjoyed my burger and fries, in spite of dealing with the tenant problems while I ate. We're about to take out the trash and go to bed. Tomorrow's Friday. Yay! Love y'all ....
