The "duct tape of food" - ! I luv it!! Good morning, Mel and Jeanette and anyone who stops by. The heavy rain & a t'storm moved in about 4:30 this morning. I rescued the newspaper from the front courtyard. It was wrapped in plastic, but that might not have kept it from becoming waterlogged. I slept on the den couch the rest of the night so poor frightened Fran would leave me alone. Leela curled up on my feet & kept them warm the rest of the night. The sun has come out and we are presently enjoying the fact the rain has stopped. Well ... y'all have a great day! I've not seen this, but someone posted it on an Oklahoma site. It's pretty different so I thought I'd share it, plus put it on my list of things to see in Oklahoma that I haven't seen yet. I had a hot shower at my house about an hour ago! The plumber is a really good guy and it turned out, in one of those 'small world'-type of moments, that he & Edward knew several of the same people from back in the days when Edward grew up out in the mountains so they had things to laugh & talk about. It's wonderful to have a working hot water heater that's heating water! Hope you're all having a great day ... I'm going to pick up some groceries. See y'all later!

It is true for cats too! I did about half my grocery shopping, but something came up & I had to run home to help out a past tenant. ๐ Taking care of some paperwork for her. I have the info she needs so I'm hoping she'll text me back real soon so I can meet up with her. I hope she's working on renting a nice place to live.

I met up with the tenant and gave her the paperwork. She's working with the Comanche tribe for some rental assistance. I'm really happy there are programs for people who need the help. I know a gazillion people sponged off the taxpayers with all the extra unemployment, but there are some people around here who genuinely need assistance. I'm hoping all of those people get it. I'm certainly thanking God for the assistance He Himself has provided for me. The coyotes were off to the north of us after dark this evening. They didn't sound close when I came in the first time & I was joking with Edward that if they had sounded very close I'd have probably run for the front courtyard (it has a wrought iron gate) instead of coming in through the garage. Well, the last time I came home, a little after 10:30, those coyotes were a lot closer, and it sounded like there were quite a few of them gathered together to yip and sing. The dogs & I went out back after they ate a late dinner and those coyotes sounded like a bunch of giggling hyenas. They were closer yet. I don't think they were on the ball field across the street, but they didn't sound like they were much further away than that. Fran & Leela stuck fairly close to the house. As soon as I suggested we come inside, they each whirled around and trotted for the back door. I felt pretty much like they did. Those laughing hyenas were creeping me out of my skin this evening, and their cutting up & carrying on doesn't usually bother me. Well, I'm a little wound up this evening but I really need to go to bed & see if I can fall asleep, so I'll do that. I love you all! See you a few hours from now. (It's 1 a.m. Central Daylight Savings Time )

Good morning! Looks like it is going to be another fairly cool day here before the extreme heat returns early next week. My arm is feeling pretty good today. It just aches a little bit off and on mostly at night. And I'm getting better at doing most things one handed for now. My biggest issue at this point is not being allowed to drive for the next several weeks with everything else that I have going on right now to try and get my parents' final affairs settled. I am still waiting to hear back about when/if we are going to be having the settlement for my parents house since the original time fell through on Thursday. The buyer is being a real pain in the rear end to put it as nicely as I can. His latest issue seems to be that he is going to be moving it to a different mobile home park and doesn't want to take possession of the house until they are actually ready to move so that he doesn't have to pay a month's rent to the current park. Both I and my parents' estate lawyer have said that we are OK with me paying for another month's rent for him to have time to make arrangements for the move as part of the deal if he would go ahead with the settlement now, but that apparently didn't suit him either.

I spoke with my Aunt this morning. She is stable now and was released from the hospital and is resting at home while they wait to find out how the doctors want to proceed. She also told me that her 17 year old grandson and two of his friends were in a really bad car accident a couple of nights ago. I've posted the details in the Prayer Request section of the board. Edit to add: My cousin (the boy's mother) texted me some pictures of what is left of the car. Thankful no one was killed.

Thankful no one was killed. Yes, I'm thanking God no one was killed in that wreck. Well, that just indicates (imo) that God has things for those boys to accomplish beyond this wreck. I'm praying they each figure that out, grow closer to the Lord, and pursue their purposes. Praying for your aunt as well. I hope the docs figure out something that improves her heart issues. Happy to hear your arm is feeling better. The not driving part would be a royal bother. I couldn't drive for about a week after my thyroid surgery and that was a nuisance. You have my empathy on that subject! As for the buyer on your parents' mobile home ... Here, and I know we're a lot different from other states, we'd just handle that issue of his not paying the lot rent by you putting up the money & the closing company would put it in their escrow account; plus, his or your Realtor would write up an addendum to the contract explaining what that was all about, all parties would sign it and the closing would continue. I'm willing to bet you a burrito that ol' boy actually has money problems that haven't come to light, or he has no place to place arranged to move the trailer to. He's definitely lying about something. Good morning, Jeanette! It's in the high 70's already tho' it's only predicted to reach the mid-80s today. The humidity is pretty high.

Not sure how it works in other states, but in PA mobile homes and house trailers that are in trailer parks rather than on land owned by the homeowner are considered to be vehicles rather than true houses, so the settlement is actually handled through the DMV and the process is very different and much more complicated than selling a regular house. Adding to the complexity is that the park he is moving it to is in West Virginia, so whatever agency handles such things in that state is involved too since the house will be crossing State lines and will have to have a new title issued from that state too before it is allowed to be moved. As for the buyers finances, all I can say on that count is that he is by all accounts wealthy and owns a lot of trailers in that same WV park as rental units, and is in fact one of the owners of the park, and he did put down a substantial cash down payment.

Well, I really hope that buyer gets his act together & closes on your parents' home. You're right - here, if the axles have been removed, a trailer can be listed & sold like regular residential property. Otherwise, they're supposed to keep up with renewing the tags annually. The parks usually keep up with that sort of thing pretty well here. We've listed & sold several mobile homes over the years that had the axles removed & I wasn't making the mental switch to mobile home parks. Excel is giving me a problem today. I keep getting a message at the top of the screen telling me there's an issue, & if it can't be resolved, my access will end on Saturday, July 31st. Edward rolled his eyes in disgust. He told me to hunt for more information so I'm going to do that. See y'all later.

I've had a GoDaddy email account for years. GoDaddy just switched it over to an Office365 email account - meaning I have to use Outlook. I'm not happy about that. I'm not a fan of Google, but I can't seem to get them out of my life unless I fly off to another planet, so I'm going to see if I can get a gmail account with a name I like (I have 2, but don't like the names on them so I'm sure I'm getting rid of the one at least). Why can't people leave things alone when they're not broke?
