Good morning, all! That cat batting around the Ever Given must know it's carrying cat food! Cat's gonna get that boat out of 'stuck' mode. That was a cute sign store employees had put up. Canned dog food has been hit 'n miss here for months. I found some cans of Pedigree that are our dogs' favorite on the bottom shelf of the "discontinued" section, back of the store by the restrooms yesterday. I have almost enough canned dog food for a month. I'll check out Wal-Mart for some food to make it all the way through the first week of May, and then I'll not worry. I'm planning to run by Wal-Mart later this afternoon to pick up some items I usually get there, like fresh produce. Hope to find a half dozen cans of dog food too. You're in a tough time of transition, Mel. Hope you'll be gentle with yourself. May stealing your food is cute. She knows what she likes! Pup Fran walked around me at breakfast, thinking she'd like something off my plate. She turns her nose up at fried eggs, so she had a bite of bacon & left me alone. Now, if I'd offered her a bite of scrambled egg or egg salad, she'd have been thrilled. Little Leela just likes to eat, so she doesn't turn up her nose at hardly anything. Attachment Deleted

I bought a box of Matzoh crackers yesterday - never ate them before, but we are planning to take part in an online Passover service this evening. They're pretty tasty. I opened them up while we cooked breakfast and spread a piece with some butter. I can really picture those with some soup early next week. The commissary also had gefilte fish, but I wasn't brave enough to buy a jar of that. DS came by this afternoon to pick up his new drivers license and a couple other things. He ended up hanging around and sorting out the big closet in his bedroom! He also went through his desk, the drawers under the bed, the front hall closet, and a small collection of DVDs in the front entertainment center. Oh, that was a lot of work! Bless his heart! He made piles of stuff to throw out; bagged up some items to take home to his oldest step-ds, and for himself. We had a good time - lots of laughs and stories. Well, I'm not going to Wal-Mart today, probably. I'm fixing a snack and then rethinking the rest of the day, hehe.

The commissary also had gefilte fish, but I wasn't brave enough to buy a jar of that. I've often thought about trying that just for the sake of curiosity, but I could never get past the smell.
I wonder what the results would be of a blind taste test between gefilte fish and lutefisk?
I do like the matzos.
They are good to break up into small pieces and eat with dip instead of chips.

I stopped at a different grocery store to try and get a few things that I couldn't get at the other place yesterday. It seems that back a few months ago when everyone was having trouble getting in paper goods, that they had repeatedly tried to order extra and now they are overwhelmed with the stuff as all of those back orders have started coming in at once. They are actually giving free rolls away to anyone who buys $20 or more of anything else.
The pet food was in low supply there too, but at least I was able to get a bag of May's preferred brand of dry food (she refuses to eat any other kind that I have tried) and some treats for her. She is much less picky about wet food and treats than she is with the dry food.
I usually give her one can of wet food each morning and then leave out a bowl of dry food that she can get whenever she wants it.
And of course, she is always quick to help herself to whatever I am having if I don't offer her a bite quick enough.

Good afternoon, all y'all! Beautiful day here - in the high 60s and breezy. I wonder what the results would be of a blind taste test between gefilte fish and lutefisk? I do like the matzos. They are good to break up into small pieces and eat with dip instead of chips. That would be an awesome challenge for a handful of high school or college athletes to take on! I was pretty sure the smell would be strong, which I can usually get around, but it might run Edward out of the house. Thanks for posting Pastor Adam's sermon. Robert Jeffress' sermon was really good this morning - on Colossian 3:16, a theoretical look at 3 reasons to keep focused on Christ and 5 practical ways to do that.

And of course, she is always quick to help herself to whatever I am having if I don't offer her a bite quick enough. That's wild that a store is now giving away toilet paper! I hope many were benefiting from that offer. I'd snap a photo of one of my 'menu sheets' if I had an easy way to upload something from my phone to this forum. These dogs have figured out exactly what it means when I pick up one of these small sheets of yellow legal pad. "Mommy's fixin' our dinner!" And they're right. I use those sheets to add up calories: 3/28/2021 a.m. Leela: 1/4 can Chunk Chicken .......... 82 1/2 cup WM (dry chicken) ......160 2 Tbsp MA (dry lamb) ............ 40................................ Total: 282 + 1/4 tsp Colostrum WM is the 4Health Brand version of Weight Management dry food; MA is the 4Health Brand version of Mature Adult dry dog food. Leela gets up to 600 calories per day. Franny can have up to 1024 calories per day. Later: Bwahahahahaha I like that "Hold my beer!" meme. I've added it to my collection. As for tuna shaped manna, if that manna tasted like matzoh - Leela would gain weight, but Franny would starve (based on each getting a small piece yesterday). Leela chowed down & asked for more. Franny carried her little piece to the hall and spit it out, giving me 'the look', as if that were a bad joke & she was sure I loved her enough to give her a 'good' treat.

Good morning! It is a chilly 41 degree morning here with a wind chill of 32. Hopefully, it will warm up at least a little before the funeral later this morning since we are having the service outside at the cemetery to get around the Covid restrictions on indoor services.

Good morning! It was in the upper 40s at 8 a.m. Hope it's warmed up in PA for y'all, Mel.
Edward said the ship blocking the Suez is now loose. Hope I see that story sometime today - it may be interesting to see how they got it loose.
Praying for all of us here, our family and friends.
