At church this morning, our Pastor's sermon was far more political than I have ever heard him get before. He really got into the problems with the current politically correct nonsense that underlies the ideology of extreme liberal movements like BLM and Antifa and how Evangelical Christians should respond to those things in light of Scripture. I'm linking to the video of the service below in case anyone is interested. The sermon starts at around the 29 minute mark.
After church I went to my parents house for a few hours and made spaghetti for our lunch. After that I came home and did my laundry while May spent the whole afternoon doing her couch potato routine.

Lying there on that couch, May looks like she's snoozing outside in flowering shrubs! That cold front came in earlier this evening. The wind is absolutely roaring and the temperature has dropped. It's pretty chilly here in the house. I'm watching your pastor - I think the recording is almost to the point where he's going to preach.

Pastor said Critical Theory dwarfs Covid-19. Boy, do I agree! Ok, it's right at 11:30 pm. I must go to bed. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day and all of those activities must be productive. I still have about 12 minutes of this sermon to listen to, & I will. I missed some names of people who he said wrote articles or books that I'd like to read. I may listen to the whole sermon again to see if I can catch their names. Thanks for posting this sermon, Mel. Is your church holding in person services, or is it all online? See you in the morning!

Thanks for posting this sermon, Mel. Is your church holding in person services, or is it all online? We are back to doing in person services, but they are being held in the gymnasium of the church's fellowship hall rather than in the church sanctuary itself to allow more room for social distancing, and the first service at 8AM is still being live streamed online on Facebook and Youtube.

Good morning! It's another cool and foggy morning here. This afternoon is forecast to get up to around 80 degrees and sunny, but then the rest of the week is expected to drop back down to the bitterly cold temperatures that we were having a week or so back. Hope you all have a great day.

Good morning, Mel ... and Jeanette ... and Scott! Happy Monday. Amazon is having a sale on the pale blue disposable masks. A 50-pk box had been $22.95 but that same box is now priced at $14.37. Edward's comment when I told him was to wonder if Amazon is "dumping them so they aren't stuck with them", like this whole mask mandate business may end soon. Maybe Amazon has some intel similar to insider trading on the stock market. I don't know, but could be. Attachment DeletedBeautiful sunshine, and a little chilly. 66 at present and supposed to reach the low 70s and be windy this afternoon. We had a client fly off to the Middle East early this morning. He managed to get the investment property listed with Edward late last evening. We're heading off to put a For Sale sign in the yard and a lockbox on the door in a bit. It's not priced too high and the owner is willing to entertain offers, so we'll see how this goes. Hopefully it will be a quick sale and we can all put that place behind us before end of the year. I have to go by the tag agency and tag the Tahoe for another year also today.

If masks were really all that effective against the virus, how is it the the virus got started and had some of the fastest spread and highest death rates in China where most people have routinely worn face masks in public during the Fall and Winter for the last several decades since the SARS outbreaks that hit that part of the world back in the 1980s?

About a year ago, one of my cousins and his wife got a new puppy. That cute little pup "Molly Faith" is not so little any more.
I love St Bernards, but I'm glad that I don't have to pay to feed that animal.
I can only imagine May's reaction if I brought a dog that size into the house!

Oh, my goodness! Molly Faith certainly grew into a big girl! She looks adorable, however. There's a new guy on Trump's medical team - I'll have to look up his name. He's debunking a whole bunch of the info that's been put out about Covid since mid-March. I'll have to look his name up later. I hope he's correct and effective! Luv that meme with the bear chasing the bicyclist! Yeh, that's motivating all right! I've gotta put some anti-frizz cream through my hair - it looks fine, but wanting to stand up on end across the top - and then I really am heading out the door. It's this dry weather.

Wow! It's supposed to get down to the mid-40s here tonight. Hard to believe, since it's not even the end of October, but instead it's the end of September. Hope y'all have had a great day, and sleep well tonight.

Mel, I finished listening to your pastor's sermon. It's good - he's a good speaker too, researches the subject and the scripture to go with it, from all appearances.
The main person I wanted to look up is one that he references between minute 50 and 51. He was talking about the 4 parts of Critical Theory and he mentioned (sounded like) Dr. Neil Schindley. He encouraged everyone to look him up, check him out, something like that. I'm not sure I caught the man's name quite right, and even if I did, I don't know how to spell it. Do you have this man's name written on anything, or are you familiar with who he was referring to?
Dr. Voddie Baucham was easy to find - I'm going to look into some of his work too. I've found a reference between him & cultural marxism. I've also found Tim Keller through Google, so I'll look into his work as well.
Thanks in advance!

Good morning! It looks like we are in for a cool rainy mid 60s day here before dropping down into frosty temperatures tonight. Do you have this man's name written on anything, or are you familiar with who he was referring to? That would be Dr. Neil Shenvi. Dr Shenvi's Apologetics web site can be found at:
He also has a number of videos on youtube.

Thanks, Mel! I'll look into his works also. Dr Jeffress' recent sermon on absolute truth squares with this sermon your pastor preached on Sunday. I like the idea of presenting the truth in love.
Chilly here this morning, but at least it's dry. If the clouds move out, it may start warming up .
A longtime resident of that small community we lived in, out in the mountains, passed away last week. He was 75. I wouldn't have guessed he was that much older than we are, but Edward knew because he lived all of his growing up years there. We didn't know this man, Buddy, was sickly so this took us by surprise. I think Edward's on the sad side. We shared some humorous stories about the man and Medicine Park last evening. I could call him a neighbor, but I can't say I knew him that well. *sigh*
