The Mars reference is from the pitiful way Dos Equis ended their Most Interesting Man in the World ad campaign. I must have missed that particular commercial. I hadn't even realized that those adds were no longer running. Apparently, Dos Equis' bottomline really dropped when they tried to introduce a younger guy in that role. <-- That took me right back to Goldsmith's agent pointing out that a young man wouldn't have the experience to be The Most Interesting Man in the World, when Dos Equis nearly didn't hire Goldsmith for the campaign. "An author and motivational speaker who is responsible for starting one of the most annoying modern Christmas traditions." I don't recognize her at all ... Can't wait to search for her.

That was quite a clue - it provided no suggestions, let alone answers, which is unusual! So I got to thinking, "What would I consider the most annoying Christmas tradition that is not steeped in antiquity?" That dreadful elf immediately popped into my head! I went looking for its origin and came up with this gal, Carol Aebersold, and her twin daughters, Chanda Bell & Christa Pitts. I didn't find the photo you posted, but the picture of Carol & her daughters looks quite a lot like the lady in the clue. Is it her?

This lady was born in Duncan, OK (next county east of here). Her father was an oilman. She excelled in education and was a world traveler & wrote some books. She was a conservative who flipped from the now raging-liberal party to the conservative party. If you've ever recognized her in one photo, you recognize her in every photo.

Our mystery woman was very active, politically, for much of her adult life. It's too bad she passed away in the 2000-teen years; I'd have loved to have heard/read what she thought of the current world & the U.S. election in particular.

The nose isn't quite broad enough, but still ... is this possibly Bill Cosby at some point in the past?

No, not Cosby.
He has played many types of characters both heroes and villains.
I'm having a hard time coming up with a good clue that wouldn't be a dead giveaway.

Giancarlo Esposito, right?
Actually, I'd have never found this guy. I asked Edward if he recognized this actor & he got all excited - told me to look up the cast of Breaking Bad, which he was sure this guy was a character on. Sure enough - as soon as I pulled up the character/actor images, there he was.

Giancarlo Esposito is Correct! I never watched Breaking Bad. I've seen him in a number of films and shows but I mainly knew him from his villainous Star Wars role.

I wasn't a Breaking Bad fan, but Edward watched all of it, and I think DS did too. I have seen a few episodes of Better Call Saul, which is the prequel, but not enough of them to really know what's going on there either. Will have to think on someone to post next .....
