Commentary: Kamala Harris Once Laughed Hysterically After Sinister Joke About Killing Trump

Unlike Ellen, Kamala Harris has never made "being nice” her brand — but in a campaign that’s stressing unity, perhaps joking about potentially killing the current president isn’t helpful.
Two years ago, Harris and DeGeneres had a good, hearty laugh about potentially doing away with Donald Trump — or Mike Pence, or Jeff Sessions. The clip of that exchange is making the rounds again — and it doesn’t reflect well on the Democrats.
During the "20 Questions" segment, Harris was asked whether she’d rather be stuck in an elevator with President Trump, Vice President Mike Pence or then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
After a theatrical eye-roll, Harris responded, “Does one of us have to come out alive?”
Both host and guest — as well as the audience — found this uproarious. That was funny, of course, because no one in the audience, and neither Kamala Harris nor Ellen DeGeneres likes any of those people. In Harris’ defense, she wasn’t necessarily talking about killing the president, it was her way out of the elevator conundrum, and her answer was assassination.
Yes, it was supposed to be funny, but there was some conservative pushback. Sean Hannity and the Drudge Report both talked about it. Kamala Harris did not ever respond to any of the comments. The clip appears in the article, and it's trending at present so there may be more comments about it in the present time.
