When I first saw an ad for this item, I thought it must a joke, but it apparently is a real product. I can't decide if it is brilliant, irreverent, or just plain tacky. Oh, my. I laughed when I first saw this post. Have to say, I think it's both brilliant ~and~ tacky, with a capital T.

The first thought that crossed my mind when I saw it was that it kind of reminds me of the old PEZ candy dispensers that my friends and I used to collect and trade when we were kids.

It is kind of a warm but cloudy day here. The weather report is calling for possible severe storms this afternoon and evening, but only a 50% chance. If it does storm, I hope that it waits until later this evening as I have to take Dad in to the infusion clinic at the cancer center this afternoon for one of those IV treatments that he gets for his kidney issues. It has been several months since he has gotten one of those treatments, but now his kidney function is really low again. The test results that we got back yesterday showed the worst results he has ever gotten. He had been getting tested every 4 weeks, but he missed his last 3 scheduled tests because of the Covid-19 restrictions that kept the hospital labs from doing certain tests since early march.

They are a gardening supply center, apparently, geared to supporting marijuana grow operations. MikeJ is with me & he was hoping to buy a gallon of alcohol to kill pests.

The whole world's going crazy! Yes, it is. Did something happen that I haven't seen online today? I know the internet in general doesn't cover everything. Everything ok in your household? Nothing specific. It's a blanket observation.

I am so sorry your dad got caught up in and harmed by this madness, Mel. I've heard and read a number of times this month that the number of deaths caused by the hospitals, labs, and treatment facilities being closed to patients-other-than those suffering from covid-19, or because facilities and resources were needed or expected to be needed by covid-19 sufferers are really significant. In some areas, the number of people lost because they couldn't get labs and treatments exceeds the number that actually passed due to covid-19.
Your parents have been on my prayer list for a long time now, and I'm particularly praying for your dad's response to these infusions to bring up his kidney function to a better level.
I think there will be a number of people called to account for their actions during this pandemic one day - if not in this life, then definitely in the next.

It's been an odd day here. Nothing bad happened, just weird timing and I couldn't get started. I took MikeJ to pay bills & buy supplies and that went fine. I'd planned to stop by Whataburger for a breakfast sandwich, but Sweetie had made hardboiled eggs so I decided I'd simply come home & whip up some egg salad for myself after dropping MikeJ back at his apt. Sweetie had a class at the office and a working lunch. He was going to call me to meet him at Ollie's Bargain Store after he was finished with all that. It was nearly 1 p.m. by the time he called to say he was free. Thunder was off in the distance and I had 3 chicken dogs around me here in the office, in spite of not seeing any indication we were going to have rain (it was north of us on radar). Edward said it was pouring down rain in north-central Lawton so I should stay home with the dogs and he'd run by Ollie's to see if they had a few things we'd found in their ad. The thunder, lightning, and pouring rain moved all over Lawton and stayed till early evening. Edward came home and we decided to pile up on the waterbed with 2 of the chicken dogs & the other, Ge'dogg, between the bed & wall where he felt safe and Edward could reach him. We were all sound asleep for the next 90 minutes. I was up then, and Edward and the dogs slept for at least another 30 minutes. We agreed we'd slept hard, felt kinda crummy, but we both thought we'd have felt worse if we hadn't laid down for a nap. We hadn't slept well last night - I'd been up with Ge' at 2:45 for a trip outside, which was a good thing, just disrupted my sleep. It was about 5 and Edward asked me what I had in mind for dinner? Well, not what I'd originally planned - I wasn't in the mood to cook an involved meal. I told him I thought I'd run down to the corner and hire us a cook! He busted up laughing. I threw together a quick skillet meat and veggie dish and we enjoyed it. The storms finally died out around 6-6:30. We had almost 5" of rain! I've worked on downloading photos off of my phone; deleting emails on this computer and cleaning up files so I can copy them onto a memory stick. This computer has got to go! Having gotten Ge'dogg settled in the bedroom - he's really doing pretty well today - and the doors all locked up, I'm going to make one more post and then I'm going to bed for the night. So I did get some things done today, at least.

Good morning! Looks like we are in for another rainy stormy day here. The barber shops are still closed here, so Dad wants me to come over and cut his hair for him this morning.
I've been cutting my own hair for the last several years, ever since I realized that you can buy a pretty good barber set for not much more than the cost of one professional haircut; but I'm always nervous about doing someone else's hair.
Not too much chance of messing up in this case though, because he just wants a simple "buzz cut" for Summer.

Last night two cop cars screeched into the neighborhood on account of illegal fireworks. It's not unusual, near July 4, to hear some fire crackers but these were big rockets. I'll bet the neighborhood dogs were going nuts.
