Good morning.
It is another chilly mid 50s morning here today. Like yesterday, our high is only expected to be around 70 this afternoon which is unusually cool for mid June though not extremely so.
Are y'all seeing an unusual number of snakes this spring? That's going on around these parts. I actually haven't seen any snakes around here so far this year.
What we do seem to be having an unusually high number of is spiders.
RANT AHEAD:
I've been seeing so many news stories the last few days about the leaders in major cities and even some whole states pushing to defund or even completely eliminate their police departments.
What is wrong with these people? How can anyone in their right mind possibly think that this is a good idea?
Sure there are some bad cops (and maybe even a few totally bad police departments in some places), and those cases absolutely need to be dealt with; but the vast majority of police and other law enforcement officers are decent hard working folks who went into that line of work out of a sincere desire to serve and protect the people of their communities! They don't deserve this abuse!

RANT AHEAD:
I've been seeing so many news stories the last few days about the leaders in major cities and even some whole states pushing to defund or even completely eliminate their police departments. What is wrong with these people? How can anyone in their right mind possibly think that this is a good idea? It's an absurd idea. I can't imagine this idea will go far, and if it does, it will be quickly overturned because you can't set the foxes to watching the hen houses. Things could get real crazy in the meantime.
Did you see where the police promptly tore down the barricades when antifa tried setting up an autonomous zone in Asheville, NC on Friday? Every single officer on the force showed up & helped. There was some mouthing off about how the thugs would show back up on Saturday, but as of yesterday afternoon, only a few people were on site. Similar situation in some part of Buffalo, NY - they pitched tents and said they were staying until some protestor who ran her SUV into police was released from jail. Things were reportedly peaceful, but police were telling people to remove their tents and move along.
I know there are several other stories too. I've dropped my jaw a few times, rolled my eyes, occasionally groaned or laughed over the stupidity.
The point people are missing is that you cannot mock God. As a society, we have turned away from God. We have approved removing God from our schools and other public places; we have legalized abortion - and currently promote it as a great, if not best, choice for a woman who becomes pregnant; we've legalized homosexual marriage and are moving towards adopting the whole LGBTQ+ agenda. I keep going back to that scripture about God sending a strong delusion on people who do not believe (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12). As I read about this, it appears not to happen until the Antichrist has been revealed. It sure seems however that many people who do not know God - or refuse to accept the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost - are following and acting on a lot of ideas that run totally contrary to common sense and good practices.
I have a cousin who believes in anything and everything. She has jumped all over me for being a Christian, when I've tried to encourage her to look into scripture for answers, and have told her I'm concerned about her because I do not wish for her to be lost.
Today, she's on a big roll about how she's sick of a whole list of things - like covid-19, black and white, democrats and republicans, etc. She says if you believe in God that's fine for you but don't force your ideas on anyone else. The bottom line was "you do you and let me do me". Of course she didn't write that, she shared what someone else had written. I could start picking that apart and write a lengthy paper on the fallacies behind those ideas. But to what end? I expect she would turn a deaf ear - after she told me how worthless my ideas were (that, in itself wouldn't bother me - my value as a person is certainly not dependent on her opinions).
I'm praying for Divine Intervention. That's the only thing I have to go forward with in this mess.

It sure seems however that many people who do not know God - or refuse to accept the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost - are following and acting on a lot of ideas that run totally contrary to common sense and good practices. In my opinion, the end time delusion referred to in that passage is not a totally new thing specific to just that time period. There have always been those unbelievers who have willingly allowed themselves to be deluded into viewing good as evil and evil as good; but as the time of the End draws near, the delusion is spreading rapidly and growing exponentially stronger in preparation for it to reach its final most extreme form during the reign of the Antichrist.
Even during the first coming of our Lord Jesus, there were those whose spiritual state He described as "He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them." (John 12:40)
I rather like what one of my cousins posted as her Facebook status a few days ago:
"I'm no longer just looking for the signs, I'm listening for the Trumpet!"

"BUY BULLS" That's a good one! I agree with your cousin, Mel. Edward has been listening for that trumpet much of the past 20 years! Well it's another hot day in SW Okla. I'm going to enjoy it as much as I can. See y'all later! Hope each and all of you have a great Sunday. Attachment Deleted_____________________________________ I slept lousy last night. Ge'dogg wanted to sleep in the front bedroom and wanted me in there with him. I don't find that to be a very comfortable mattress, and I was up 'n down to go to the bathroom and get Ge' water, and worry about him throughout the night. He had a great day on Friday; yesterday not much - he acted exhausted, wouldn't eat his dry food, would only eat canned food, and we got up about 5:50 this morning. I gave him a pain pill, some canned food, we went outside to enjoy the daybreaking, and then went back to bed till 8 am.

Oh, this makes me think of our little Leela - she's a piranha dog! I went out at 9 and cut down an old scrub tree that had put on shoots. It was growing from the small stump that was left after I did this last year & neglected to treat it with stump killer. Mm, boy, it warmed up quickly. I cut it all down tho', and have a stack of limbs&leaves to dry out in the sun today. In the middle of the job, Edward came walking out with Ge'dogg on a leash. I had closed the doggy door to keep Ge'dogg from slipping out without Edward noticing. Sure enough, Edward looked up from the computer because Ge' and Franny were barking, and there stood Ge' at the back door. Edward walked him around a little bit and Ge' made a point to climb right in the middle of my pile of leafy limbs. We laughed. He walked around a minute more then went back to the side of the pile & peed on the limbs. Ge'dogg is such a helper around the house! That's okay, that pile will dry out under the sun & I'm not picking it up to stuff in the trash cart till just before dark.

I hope you each and all have a great Monday! I have to get moving so I can be out and about to pick up some rent at 1.
If you perhaps saw a post I shared on Facebook with Liv the Artist, she is the oldest daughter, Olivia, of my very talented tenants who live in our house out in the mountains. I'd love to see her win this.

I had a stroke on May 22. Apart from a numb patch in my right arm pit and a feeling as if I have over worked my right bicep I have suffered no ill effects. In short I really dodged a bullet. I only mention it because if you have one you're likely to have another (could be several years away.) So, if I all of a sudden disappear you'll know why. Other than that I have the usual diabetic problems and otherwise feel good.

I'm really happy to hear you are basically doing well, with no ill effects. On the one hand, I'd hope if any of us passed on to the next realm, some one of our family would get onto our online hangouts and accounts and let people know. Of course, I may be expecting more of Edward & Michael than they've ever considered (*snicker*). And, on the other hand, Scott, if you were to suddenly disappear, I'm hoping all of us here will have disappeared as well because the rapture will have occurred. Either option gets us to heaven and we'll all meet up there when the time is right.

It's in the low-to-mid 90s this afternoon. Feels pretty steamy out there. I got out and collected rents, paid a water bill, and went to the bank to make a deposit. Sweetie was waiting on me to get home so he could call for a haircut. He got right in so that's where he is now. It's cool here in the house, I'm about to turn up the AC so it will shut off for awhile. My feet are cold & you know that's silly. All 4 dogs are sacked out asleep and it's so quiet, I could doze easily too. edited to add: Edward's hair is short! He told the gal to cut it that way, and she did. I hope to go later this week, maybe Friday. We'll see.

This was the Darren Daily Friday Fun Fact for 6/12/2020: San Francisco cable cars are the only National Monuments that can move. Darren Daily is a motivational speaker whose podcasts I find in my inbox daily. Some are pretty good, some ho-hum.
I'm cleaning out emails this evening. *wink* No telling what I may find.

Good afternoon! It is a pleasant, sunny, mid 70s day here. Mom and I had a pepperoni and sausage pizza for our lunch today, and Dad finished off the last of the left over chili from the weekend. He claims that he doesn't like pizza, but as far as I know he has never tried it.
After I got home from their place, I mowed my grass. May is being her usual goofy self running around and acting like a crazy cat. Praying for all needs of our members and their loved ones today
