I've been clearing off things on this computer this week. I'm determined to be finished with that soon! I promise I won't do this, however. Attachment Deleted

Happy Friday! Today is L's 30th birthday. Just sent her a Happy Birthday text with a pretty picture. I hope her entire year is wonderful. She & DS could use a great year to move forward in. That's my wish for them. So, is the pandemic about to go "poof!" I'm reading how the CDC thinks they've had it wrong - wearing masks is bad if you're healthy; the virus doesn't really cling to inanimate objects; and there may not be a big 2nd & 3rd wave of cases. Off to pick up MikeJ, our tenant, and run errands with him. Y'all have a great Friday!

So, is the pandemic about to go "poof!" I'm reading how the CDC thinks they've had it wrong - wearing masks is bad if you're healthy; the virus doesn't really cling to inanimate objects; and there may not be a big 2nd & 3rd wave of cases. And on that note: Remember how most of PA's supposed Covid-19 deaths were supposed to be in nursing homes, but family were basically cut off from any contact with their loved ones in those homes? Now this comes out:
Pa. health officials quietly alter erroneous nursing home case, death counts as providers cry foul
HARRISBURG — Two days after the state released a long sought-after list of nursing homes where the coronavirus has infected or killed residents or staff, Pennsylvania’s top health official admitted there are errors in the data.
“I have heard that there were a small number of errors,” Secretary of Health Rachel Levine said Thursday, after being confronted by lawmakers who said facilities in their districts were reporting different numbers of cases than the state had posted on its website. “We’re correcting those.”
The secretary’s comments sought to minimize the extent of the problem, as nursing home owners and the associations that represent them say the health department’s data is riddled with inaccuracies and, despite knowing about it for days, officials took little action in response.
Provider associations said publishing erroneous data has sown panic and anger among family members, distrust among nursing home staff, and frustration for providers.
“Minutes after the data was published, it became clear it contained inconsistent and inaccurate information,” Zach Shamberg, president and CEO of the Pennsylvania Health Care Association, which represents more than 400 long-term care facilities, said in a statement. “The Department of Health has not provided a plausible explanation for why it will not remove faulty data or alert the public that the posted data is inaccurate.”
A review by Spotlight PA found the department has been quietly making changes to the data since its release. In perhaps the most egregious examples, the state until Wednesday reported 20 deaths at the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania and 32 at Saunders House in Montgomery County. But by Thursday, without any notation or acknowledgment, the state’s data showed no deaths at either facility.
So basically, Governor Wolf's people have been claiming large numbers of deaths at these nursing homes and using those claims as justification to keep the counties where the homes are located locked down, but staff at some of the the homes themselves say that they have not had any deaths. Not just no Covid-19 deaths, no deaths at all during this period.
And now that the blatantly false death counts have been exposed, Wolf's people are trying to dismiss it as "minor errors" and change the official counts behind the scenes without making the true numbers public.

Mel, you probably already know what I think about this phony reporting of testing (rolling together the swab&saliva type tests w/# of antibody tests then reporting total # tested, which gives a false view), positive case #'s and not reporting # recovered, and deathcounts. I truly believe people need brought up on charges for fraud, waste, & abuse; as well as inciting public panic, and public riots too - if any of the protests turn damaging or violent. One of our tenants owns a graphics shop. He's very talented, artistically & musically, and he's a strong Christian also. He put this on his facebook page this morning. I commented & asked if I could pull a copy & put on my page? He was tickled I wanted to so told me to go right ahead. I think people should read, research, consider what they find, pray about it - and do what's right!, not what's popular or simply a means of following the crowd. Attachment Deleted

I can't find the link now, but I was reading somewhere earlier this week that many of these Corona Virus antibody tests don't actually test for just Covid-19 specifically, so if you have had any of the corona type viruses in your system in the recent past including the common cold you will test positive. If that proves to be true, then all of the case count figures that are being presented as "confirmed" Covid numbers would likely be way too high by several orders of magnitude.

It is really hard raining here this afternoon. The street in front of my house looks like a small river right now.

Okay, now, the Social Distancing version of Waldo was tough not to laugh out loud over (but I'm the only one awake in the house right now ). I grocery shopped late afternoon and it was neat that we didn't need much this week - avocados was the big thing we needed, and some tomatoes. I'll be making a cucumber, tomato, & onion salad tomorrow; and we like to have half an avocado each with breakfast, most mornings. We had a nice evening. I baked steaks and sauteed asparagus in an onion-lemon-garlic sauce. I have to find a similar recipe so I can make that from scratch instead of buying a prepared mix. Didn't really do much the rest of the evening - shopped online at my favorite clothing store. I haven't shopped for clothes in a year, or longer. Bought some shorts, a pair of leggings, and a sweatshirt. All on sale. My favorite way to shop! How many inches of rain did you get, Mel? Just south of the Red River, people in Texas received as much as 10" this evening. The flooding has to be pretty bad - I know Bowie was hit hard. Think there was a tornado across that area also. Since there was so little going on in SW Oklahoma, our weather team stayed on the storms across North Texas all evening. See you all tomorrow, unless we meet in the air tonight. Love y'all!

The rain finally stopped during the night, but now this morning is so foggy that I can hardly see the house across the street.

The fog is gone now and it is starting to warm up. Looks like this afternoon's high might get up to the low 80s.

We are never, ever going to have even a remotely accurate account of the extent of this virus. This weekend is a great time to start - as we honor our fallen warriors!

We had a wave of storms roll through here after 5:30 this morning. I kept dozing off as one would fade into the distance, but poor Fran & Leela would hear the next one coming and wake me up again. If I didn't feel so sorry for them, I might shut them out of the bedroom, but nah, I can't do that so I wake up and pet them, hug them, and hold them. Sweetie has floor duty this afternoon and I'm going to do some cleaning that will be easier with only one person at home. I may put the dogs outside for an hour or two, if the humidity isn't too extreme. Should be in the high 80s today with more storms forecast for this evening. Hope you each and all have a great Summer Kick-Off Weekend!
