The prices on many things were way up just from last week. My back yard isn't all that large, but I am seriously considering digging up most of it and putting in a garden next spring. Those price increases - "way up" in just a week - sound awful! I'll be shopping maybe Wednesday evening, or Saturday. I need a couple of jars of spices, because I've run out. That's a commodity that has often seen a spike in price 'just because' the fall cooking season had arrived. The only grocery store on this side of town has been bad about that over the years (when you dig deep enough, you find the Safeway name). I think I'll go to all 3 Wal-Mart stores in town because it's amazing how different prices can be between the 3. The commissary isn't the deal it once was, but there are things I can get there that I can't get in town, like the best dry dog food to feed Milo Man. Praying for Jesus' sure & sudden return.

The walk went well & I now know why the Lord placed it on my heart to attend. It isn’t that I’m even good at raising money, like I’m not on any social media, etc.
There was an elderly lady from the church we attend & she moved as fast as she could over to me and we hugged. She was there with her daughter, who was taking care of a young gal in a wheelchair …
the lady & I walked slowly together & I probably talked her ear off, as she doesn’t say much … although when I asked her questions she’d answer … suck a sweet spirit …
You know? The kind of person ~ who in her younger days, I image was a worker behind the scenes ~ her & her DH! Unassuming, quiet and just good people that didn’t complain just showed up and did whatever needed doing … again, she doesn’t talk hardly at all but this is just my sensing …
with her DH, they both have health issues … I try to greet them when I do see them at church & when they’re gone … ‘ let them know they’re missed… her face lights up with a smile every time …
Thankful she has a couple of daughters in the area, as they are officially natives of this area … wow!
Praying for them …
I never did see the other three ladies from the church, that I had seen signed up…
I did see one lady who I hadn’t seen since possibly 2011’s walk (they attend a different church)! (Working on redoing photo albums may be helpful in that area lol)
Afterward, I stopped & ate at a chick-fil-a, got to a Hobby Lobby to check on more photo spilts & placed a request to notify me when they come in, as I’d like 6 boxes of 1,000 photo splits. They don’t go on sale.
Traffic was getting horrible, so I headed back to my area & got to the neighbor Food Lion. Yep prices continue to go up, but I was able to get what was needed for the food pantry, as well as items for here that I hadn’t seen. Thankful! I did forget to get a couple of items … which weren’t on my list lol
Grouphug
May we meet Jesus in the air soon!

Good morning! It's another cold and rainy morning here. I didn't sleep too well last night. I kept dreaming about Sharon. Today would have been our 23rd anniversary.

Praying for your peace today, Mel. I'm glad you had such a good time with the elderly lady on the walk yesterday, Jeanette. The brisket cooked up beautifully yesterday. I have a rice dish to make later this afternoon - it's called Simanim Rice because: I've never cooked with leeks so I had to find a couple of youTube videos to show how to cut & clean them. The longer video showed 4 different way to cut leeks for use in French cooking. I do want to watch that one again, even if I don't do any French cooking, just because it was interesting. I'm going to have enough leek left, surely, to cook up a pot of zucchini-leek soup later in the week. Pomegranate seeds don't work for us so I'm substituting some almonds instead, unless I just skip an ingredient altogether. We'll see! We're about to head to the office and set my table in place, perpendicular to my desk, to expand my work space. I'm excited about that See y'all later! L'Shana Tovah!

I was feeding the squirrels this afternoon. One of the bushy tailed little goofballs took the peanut that I offered to him, buried it, dug up a walnut that was already buried in my yard, and ate that right in front of me. I don't have any walnut trees on my property, but there are a couple of them in the neighbor's yard across the street. For some reason, the squirrels have been gathering up the walnuts over there and bringing them across to my place to bury them.

Those squirrels are a lot of fun, surely. It's warm & windy this afternoon. We got the side table carried & set in place - it was a little cumbersome to maneuver around the desk, but not bad. And it fit just fine in length and width. We stopped for a bag of ice on the way back. Wal-Mart and Braum's were both out of ice for about a week and a half.

Good morning Jeanette! Good morning Mel! 56 at 8 a.m. and only heading for the upper 80s today, after 94 yesterday and 99 on Saturday. We stood out on the back patio this morning and listened to the high school marching band practicing "Hey, Jude!" The middle school parking lot where the high school band practices is 4 blocks west of our house. Is that one of your squirrels, Mel?

Is that one of your squirrels, Mel? Yes it is. So far he is the only one that has shown up this morning. I have 3 regulars who stop by for peanuts most days now that the weather is getting cooler again and a number of others that just pop in once in a while.

That's a healthy looking squirrel - a little bigger than the ones we typically have running around here. I've spent about about an hour and a half straightening up 2 email accounts this morning. The one, I didn't know it was expiring so didn't renew it - and I'd turned off 'auto-renew' because I'd planned to discontinue it (mm, boy, I forgot all about that ). Anyway, that one should be turned back on sometime today. I also paid for turning on email to another domain I own. <-- that's gonna be the one I rely on. I'll be pulling stuff off the old one till it's empty & then I'll call back in & turn it off, period. That'll take awhile tho' - there are many folders of emails I need to move, along with a bunch of stuff to delete & I'll want most of the contacts. Well, I have plans for 'what' to send to 'which' emails now - and I'll write it all down in a little notebook I use for things like that. For now, I need to get to the office. Praying for my cousin I can't get a hold of this morning. She's on the east side of Florida. I don't know if she & her dh may be heading inland, or what's going on with her. Hope y'all have a great day!
